Files and directories created by WinXP client are read-only
My WinXP client creates files and directories that are writable only by the file owner, not by the group to which that user belongs. There must be something all-too-obvious that I am overlooking here, but I'll be darned if I can find it. The files and directories can be read just fine, but I can't write to them. Clues? Help? Commiseration? Thanks, Jay -- When we are planning for

Build count limit == 5 ?
I have been running 4 builds on my CC server for a while now without a problem. Now I''ve added a 5th, and the dashboard is acting very strangely. Before I started the builder for the new project (while I was editing the config files, etc), it showed up on the dashboard as expected, with ''builder down''. However, at the top of the list of project rows was a white gap,

File system corruption
I am wondering if anybody can shed any light on this. I have lost two file systems in the past year due to file system corruptions. In each case, I was running ext3 on a single-filesystem-is-the-whole-disk setup running RedHat 9.0. They were on two separate computers, with different hard disks. In both cases, things crashed hard enough that I had to boot from the rescue CD, run fsck manually,

bcm43xx CentOS5
Hi there, i am looking for a bit of advice on how to proceed with a wee problem that i am having. I have a BCM4306 pcmcia card (one of the later revisions) that i use to connect to my wpa2 wireless network. This is running on an old Dell Latitude (circa 1999). I used to use fedora (7,8 and then 9) on this but 2.6.23 and 2.6.25 stopped populating various bits of /proc/acpi with the relevant

runaway samba, non-responsive daemons
Hello, I am wondering if someone may have experienced this or might know what is happening. First, let me lay out the ground work so you understand our environment. We have several large servers (dual processors, gig of ram, 300+gig drive space) that are running redhat versions 7.0-7.3. Some of the severs are running samba 2.2.5, 2.2.5 (with spoolss patches), 2.2.4. We have a samba PDC

Component/type defaults for 0.22.x
Has the component/type defaults syntax changed for 0.22.x? I have a component: <snip> define remotefile($owner=root, $group=root, $mode, $source, $backup=false, $recurse=false, $groupname="default") { file { $name: mode => $mode, owner => $owner, group => $group, backup => $backup,

An 'orrible question: Outlook 365 under wine on CentOS?
Either CentOS 6 or 7 - anyone know if it's possible? Upper Management has decided on a policy that IMAP is going to go away in the near future, and they want everyone on Lookout, sorry, Outlook 365. mark, VMNH* * Very Much Not Happy

Does "sink" stand for anything?
Hello Everyone,   Learning about R and its wonderful array of functions. If it's not obvious, I usually try to find out what a function stands for. I think this helps me remember better.   One function that has me stumped is "sink." Can anyone tell me if this stands for something?   Thanks,   Paul         __________________________________________________ [[alternative HTML
