[LLVMdev] Very slow performance of lli on x86
Hi all, LLVM is built without debug enabled. Also i am not forcing lli to use interpreter mode. so i dont think the reason is not because of debug build or interpreter mode. *step 1: * compiled the 3 files (generic_replica.c ,xacc.c and dacc.c) with clang-cc to llvm bytecode files using -emit-llvm-bc and (-O0/-O3) options *step 2:* bytecode obtained from step 1 (generic_replica.bc, xacc.bc and

Predicting a linear model for all combinations
Lets say I have a linear model and I want to find the average expented value of the dependent variable. So let's assume that I'm studying the price I pay for coffee. Price = B0 + B1(weather) + B2(gender) + ... What I'm trying to find is the predicted price for every possible combination of values in the independent variables. So Expected price when: weather=1, gender=male weather=1,

Legal issues for non-profit radio stations.
...ade the recordings, the choir sang them, so the only bit we need to cover is the song writers, which in some cases belongs to the choir too. I e-mailed (what I think are) the relevant authorities in the UK, and the only one that bothered to reply was with a standard boilerplate e-mail with the combinded online PRS-MPRC licence application forms on, the two we don't flaming need. So I say sod'em. If they can't be bothered to respond we're going to do it anyway. We're standing here trying to give them cash and they ignore us, what a way to run a business! I'll have to...

Legal issues for non-profit radio stations.
Of course we all know these groups would certainly not appreciate the audible distrobution of their bread and butter. However, I assume your scope is only within the U.S. , whereas personaly in Canada. Our laws governed a right to freedom of information in regards to online content. More or less, if you find it online it must be public content (unless that's been changed by now, I haven't

What is the most cost effective hardware for R?
Has anyone got any advice about what hardware to buy to run lots of R analysis? Links to studies or other documents would be great as would be personal opinion. We are not currently certain what analysis we shall be running, but our first implementation uses the functions lme and gls from the library nlme. To do one data point currently takes 1.5 seconds on our 3 year old sunfire box, and

My story installing Samba-LDAP PDC (it has a happy ending)
OK. I am starting to believe that Samba 3.0.x is not stable. At least, the documentation for Samba as PDC with OpenLDAP backend (which is what I have been trying to do for four days) is crap. All the documentation for 3.0.x is mixed with 2.2.x. Most documents start as instructions for 3.0.x but put a lot of information that doesn't apply to 3.0.x, but 2.2.x. People in the mailing list
