Does anyone know the reason for this? One of my guesses is that the table and field names are converted into lower cases by the database manager, whi...

Trellis graphics and clipping
...see my way round. Even when displayed in the R Graphics Window, there is some clipping (the extreme top, bottom, left and right edges are not there, so that labels, and parts of numerical scale markers all round, have been clipped off). When I switch to the "postscript" device, with the comamnd 'postscript(filename,...)', the result is even more clipped, in that parts of the histogram plots themselves get cut off, including their titles as seen in the X11 display. On the other hand (using gv's "position meter"), it seems that the internal %%BoundingBox matches the di...

how to resize a partition of a disk define as a physical volume
...elete the last partition and then without exiting the utility I create again it using the same starting point and the new larger end. For this, take care of using option to show sectors and not cylinders ("u" switches between the two options) and print your partition layout ("p" comamnd), so that you can set exactly the same starting point of the new xvda2 partition otherwise you will have destroyed it and LVM layer would not be able to identify it (also the type if now it is 8e for Linux LVM). Eventually you will have to run also the command partprobe /dev/xvda to align os with...

3.6 portable ready.
The Cray and tru64 patches I have, have been applied. Unless there is any major "oh my god it does not work". I believe 3.6 should now be ready for release soon. I'd like to thank everyone for providing feedback on the status of their their platform. Hopefully, we have not missed any platform that is commonly used. - Ben

Using the Rprofile file to automatically plot data on Sta rtup of R version 2.0.1.
Dear John, I belive your problem has to do with the sequence of startup. I think that .Rprofile is called before the required libraries are attached. You might like to try putting your code into a .First() function and run it that way.
