Samba and Window XP write performance
I did some testing using samba-3.0.0 as a server and two identical clients one Running W2K and other running Win XP pro. If I write a big file using the W2K client, I'm getting about 25 Mbytes/sec but if I run the same testing using the Win XP Pro, this client only is able to get 12.5 Mbytes/sec. There is a problem between XP and samba?

Try using a different network card in one of the PCs (or a PC with a different card if it is an integrated one). This should ensure that we couldn't have the two cards with their random...

Things worked ok for a while and I did commits from and updates to all three machines until today. When I did svn status I noticed a lock on the working dir. $ svn status ? Rakefile ? readme ! Windows 7 to Samba 4.1.4 in complete copies from CD/DVD
I have a test server setup with Samba 4.1.4. All file interactions test work except when copying files from a CD or DVD to the samba share on Windows 7. I have a CD with a folder that contains 324 files and 22 sub-folders. Consistently if I drag/drop or copy/paste the folder in Windows Explorer directly from the CD to the samba share only 53 files and 4 folders get copied. No error dialogs
