Searching archives for Colinux
Newbie to the list. Are the archives searchable like Listserve archives, or do you just use Google? In another reality I am a mainframe Sysprog, so this stuff is somewhat alien to me. I would like to find previous postings on running Asterisk with CoLinux. I have the Win32 version of Asterisk installed and I have built Asterisk on Topologic Linux running under Colinux on the same WinXP system. I can dial from one Asterisk to the other - sort of a problem with the sound card support, but I am only interested in connectivity. My current area of inter...

Stack level too deep on Cygwin and on Debian / Colinux with 0.5.0 - 0.8.5 Beta gems
Hi, as it is not possible for me to use a sensible development environment to start with I have to use emulations. I use Cygwin on windows and also Colinux. (Colinux is really amazing cause it lets you run actual linux binaries und Windows.) So here is my problem, which by the way exists since Rails 0.5.0 I think. It was the reason I tried Colinux in the first place, cause the error first appeared on Cygwin. So here goes: 1) First the the way how...

2 HD, same PC
Hello, I have two hard drives on one PC. One is a Windows XP drive and the other is a Linux (redhat 9.0) drive. I want Linux to recognize and share files on the XP drive. Where is there documentation addressing this situation? Because now I work mostly with my Linux environment, I wanted to access the XP drive from Linux. Bryan Peifer brpeifer@earthlink.net

Asterisk on MS Virtual Server
Hi, This might not be a very popular question, but I was just wondering if anyone have ever tried to run Asterisk on a Windows computer using Microsoft Virtual Server (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/default.mspx). I am told that you can run Linux on a virtual server using this software, so in theory it should be possible. I run a windows based domain, but am also

A Nightmare on Rails Street: Windows Lives!
Just spent 40+ hours in two days deploying my app on Windows 2000. Not all the time was Apache/MySql related, but a significant portion was. What a nightmare that was. Unfortunately, the customer is dead-set on "standardizing" by using Windows. So, as I sat there between a Linux box and an AIX box working on this thing, I ran into problems, part of which were: CGI was slow (Dell

[LLVMdev] OS Development
...(bochs-2.2.6-x86-64.exe) that I found on the web. Can I use LLVM as a GCC replacement for OS development? I need to generate 64-bit x86-64 assembly language output which I can then assemble with the normal 'as' and link via 'ld' commands. How do I do this? Can I run LLVM inside coLinux under Windows? How do I build it from the source and install it and what is the command for a GCC replacement (how do I generate x86-64 assembly source from C/C++ files)? It would be really cool if I could use the LLVM intermediate representation in my OS, so all drivers can be supplied in inte...

colinux fresh install, zaptel does not compile, size_t error
...e clean ; make install. I then get an error when compiling zaptel.c /usr/src/linux/include/linux/kernel.h:75: error: parse error before "size_t" This happens very early on and I suspect that it is actually an issue with the kernel include files on my machine. Nota: I am installing on a colinux debian. uname -a Linux colinux2 2.4.26-co-0.6.1 #1 Sat May 29 15:30:37 IDT 2004 i686 GNU/Linux I think I have all the required packages, but I maybe wrong. If anybody else has had the same issue, thanks for help. PS: I could not find a way to search the mailing list archive... Yours, JeanHug...

[LLVMdev] OS Development
Hello, Willow > How do I do this? Can I run LLVM inside coLinux under Windows? Both LLVM and llvm-gcc4 builds and runs fine on windows natively. But, yes, you can run it on coLinux :) Even more, you can build crosscompiler, which will run on one platform, but generate code for another. -- With best regards, Anton Korobeynikov. Summer of Code project idea
Hi, Will btrfs/oracle mentor students for this year''s "Google Summer of Code 2011"? I would like to work on a Windows-IFS driver which uses coLinux as a "backend" - and therefor support all Filesystems the Linux kernel has drivers for. Although not as cool as a native btrfs driver for windows, in the long term this could be even more profitable for btrfs - without any porting effort the latest btrfs-features could be used by the Win...

yet another Asterisk and VMware question
I looked through this forum and other lists trying to get a definitive answer to the VMware question... I have a Windows 2003 Server box that is my development machine. It is fully loaded with many s/w packages, dev tools, etc. It's not very feasible to convert this box to Linux without losing an awful lot of stuff. On it, I'm running VMware GSX 3.1.0. Under VMware, I have a
