Code Igniter
Hi all,
I was just made aware of this:
<http://www.codeigniter.com>
I wonder where the inspiration comes from? Lots of very similar
concepts there ;)
I''ve only watched the intro movie so far, but very interesting.

undefined method `scaffold' for AdminController:Class
Hello everyone! I think a little background is necessary.
I''ve been a web-developer and linux user for a little over 4 years now,
primarily working with PHP and MySQL. I''ve tried several other
frameworks like Django and CodeIgniter and several other languages,
including python, perl, ASP/.NET, javascript and javascript frameworks,
also worked with Oracle and PostgreSQL and many many technologies like
e-commerce apps and content management systems. I''ve heard of Ruby on

Goodbye for now, RoR
I started a php-based website a few months ago with a buddy of mine on
netfirms.com. I was perusing their knowledge base and I came upon a
quick-start for something called Ruby on Rails. Since then I have immersed
myself in RoR. I''ve done the tutorials, I''ve purchased the books.
But, I could never get even a sample RoR app to work on netfirms. 500
server errors.

Is this book dated?
http://apress.com/book/view/9781590597811
I acquired this book and it has the info I thought I wanted; but, I''m not
sure.
Is there something better more current out there? RESTful oath openid etc..
I''m coming from a wordpress to cake, codeigniter tinkering and forget why I
tried rails; but, it seems pretty cool and intuitive.
Appreciate the Capistrano rec prior. Super good, like a dream come true. Was
able to deploy wp with it.
Also
Would you all recommend aptana radRails?
I''m using vim & gEdit..they seem fitting.

PHP 7.x on CentOS 7 : which solution ?
Hi,
As you all know, CentOS 7 is shipping PHP 5.4, which is OK in some
situations. Unfortunately, some applications like OwnCloud require a
more recent version of PHP.
Up until recently, I've been using PHP 5.6 packages from the Webtatic
repository. Despite the bad press this third party repo seems to have,
it has been working perfectly for me for a few years. Here's the PHP 5.6
packages

Broken Link
Hi,
Just wanted to let you know about a link that seems to be broken on this page http://code.metager.de/source/xref/eclipse/pdt/org.eclipse.pdt/doc/articles/PDT and PHP Frameworks/Developing Web applications using PDT and PHP Frameworks/article.html.
It is this link http://codeigniter.com/tutorials/, but the site doesn?t seem to be active any more. I thought you might want to update your page.
If you are looking for an alternative then check out http://wiht.link/codeigniter_guide, it may make a suitable replacement.
I hope this helps!

protect_from_forgery
I am a newbie to Rails, coming from a PHP shop, so please excuse my
ignorance.
I have to applications. A Codeigniter PHP app and a Rails 3.0 app. The
rails app makes paypal api calls and the php app makes curl post calls
to the rails app with information from a shopping cart.
How can I make this work with protect_from_forgery? I basically want to
pass my own auth token from the php app (or any 3rd party app fo...

Ui Designing with Rails opposed to PHP
Why are there more web design users using PHP instead of using Rails? Is
there an advantage using PHP over Rails?
Thanks

Types of apps to use Rails for?
I am a web developer using PHP and very limited JavaScript. I keep
hearing about RoR and am interested in learning it, but before I make
the jump I''d like to hear about the types of applications I should be
using it for.
On all the tutorials you see big apps like stores, social networking,
shopping carts, etc. I don''t have any immediate plans to be building
something that
