Use of ICA for sound
Hi,
I'm looking at the "cocktail party" classic problem.
I can see how to use ICA to separate the components. But, How do I then create new wav files of the separated sounds so that they can be played?
Thanks

No
sé si es una duda muy estúpida o no lo es, pero así a botepronto no he
podido encontrar solución googleando. Si me podéis echar una mano con ella

jail + postgresql + System V IPC
HI everyone,
I have resently installed a jail environment on my freebsd box, and had some
problems getting postgresql running under it.
After looking a bit on various mailinglists i figured out that I needed to
set jail.sysvipc_allowed to be 1 using sysctl in order to make postgresql
run.
However man jail gives me:
jail.sysvipc_allowed
This MIB entry determines whether or not

Specifying an IPv6 wildcard in the interfaces directive?
My network uses reserved IPv4 addresses (192.168.2.0/24) behind a NAT
firewall, but public IPv6 addresses behind a filtering firewall.
My ISP (Comcast) assigns both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses dynamically.
As a result, the IPv4 address of my internal Samba server is statically
assigned, but its IPv6 address is dynamically assigned.
The server has multiple IPv4 addresses assigned to it, all on

Oh... let the pleasure be mine!... and why wait?
_EVERYONE_ knows that the only way to indent ruby code is 2 plain spaces.
Tabs are known to be the source of all evil and 4 spaces obviously wastes

New iPhone App - Nutrition Facts for Wine!
Ran across a new iPhone app on the the App Store today. It is called DrinkFit and gives you nutritional facts for Beers, Wine Coolers, Cocktails, Liquor, Wine and Mixers. It's pretty cool, gives you calories, carbs etc... for all your favorite drinks so if you are at a bar and want to make a smarter choice, it's a pretty good reference.
Check it out on iTunes and www.drinkfitapp.com

no route to host between Mac samba and Linux samba
I have a mac running Mac OS X ans samba 2.2.5 which is provided by
Apple. The Linux server have samba 2.2.8 (the last one). Sometimes, in
the server logs, you have:
[2003/03/26 14:26:30, 0] lib/util_sock.c:read_data(436)
read_data: read failure for 4. Error = No route to host
in this case, the Macclient lost the samba connection and has to reboot
because a silly error (Mac error: -47, %

New plugin: Flagger
Hi all,
I''ve just put out a plugin for ActiveRecord that stops you having to
write repetitive bundles of methods such as
class Order < ActiveRecord::Base
def self.paid
find_all_by_paid(true)
end
def self.unpaid
find_all_by_paid(false)
end
def mark_as_paid
update_attribute(:paid, true)

Multichannel Encoding
I'm a mathematician and programmer working on experimental surround sound
techniques. Some of the ideas I'm working on require dozens of channels.
These channels are often highly correlated and are very well suited to
compression.
I'm new to Vorbis. Does it attempt to address such issues?
Thanks,

Another Bone Head question
Whilst configuring another shorewall firewall router
for another site, I must have made some totally newbie
error....
While directly on the cable modem, it works great.
But when placed on the LAN side of my existing
Shorewall box, the NEW shorwall box could not ping,
or look up dns or anything else.
If I shutdown shorewall (clear) in the NEW box then
it could surf the net and ping etc. When

Well, you're welcome to your opinion. I do disagree however. I'm simply
running dual-stack, which is a perfectly valid network configuration, no
olives or umbrellas involved. (Although there have been a fair share of
cocktails.) :-D The necessity of running NAT for IPv4 and DHCP for IPv6
isn't my choice, it's the result of the combination of my ISP's choices
and the global depletion of IPv4 addresses. If you can convince Comcast
to provide static routing of IPv6, it would make my life a lot easier,
so goo...
