Use of ICA for sound
Hi,
I'm looking at the "cocktail party" classic problem.
I can see how to use ICA to separate the components. But, How do I then create new wav files of the separated sounds so that they can be played?
Thanks

No
sé si es una duda muy estúpida o no lo es, pero así a botepronto no he
podido encontrar solución googleando. Si me podéis echar una mano con ella
o indicarme el mejor sitio para encontrar soluciones a est...

jail + postgresql + System V IPC
...afe to run postgresql + jail. I have seen an ISP
offering freebsd jails, and they have a list regarding downsides of running
jail (such as you can't use ICMP, shared hardware etc etc). In this list
they also includes that you can't run postgresql. This just makes me wonder
even more if this cocktail is a good idea :)
Cheers,

Specifying an IPv6 wildcard in the interfaces directive?
My network uses reserved IPv4 addresses (192.168.2.0/24) behind a NAT
firewall, but public IPv6 addresses behind a filtering firewall.
My ISP (Comcast) assigns both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses dynamically.
As a result, the IPv4 address of my internal Samba server is statically
assigned, but its IPv6 address is dynamically assigned.
The server has multiple IPv4 addresses assigned to it, all on

Oh... let the pleasure be mine!... and why wait?
_EVERYONE_ knows that the only way to indent ruby code is 2 plain spaces.
Tabs are known to be the source of all evil and 4 spaces obviously wastes

I'm going to strongly suggest you stop playing the IPv6 and IPv4 and
exposed public IP and NAT and DHCP and static address and an umbrella
with two olives stick on the handle sticking out of it cocktail
approach to network configurations. The result is a chimera. Pick your
local standards:
* IPv4 or IPv6? One or the other, stop using both internally
* Always use static IP addresses for all IP addresses on servers, with
DHCP reservations if appropriate. It's usually possible, even with a

New iPhone App - Nutrition Facts for Wine!
Ran across a new iPhone app on the the App Store today. It is called DrinkFit and gives you nutritional facts for Beers, Wine Coolers, Cocktails, Liquor, Wine and Mixers. It's pretty cool, gives you calories, carbs etc... for all your favorite drinks so if you are at a bar and want to make a smarter choice, it's a pretty good reference.
Check it out on iTunes and www.drinkfitapp.com

no route to host between Mac samba and Linux samba
I have a mac running Mac OS X ans samba 2.2.5 which is provided by
Apple. The Linux server have samba 2.2.8 (the last one). Sometimes, in
the server logs, you have:
[2003/03/26 14:26:30, 0] lib/util_sock.c:read_data(436)
read_data: read failure for 4. Error = No route to host
in this case, the Macclient lost the samba connection and has to reboot
because a silly error (Mac error: -47, %

New plugin: Flagger
...tribute(:paid, false)
# related tasks
end
end
It gives you dynamic attribute-based methods similar to these. You can
use certain negative prefixes to look for false values - Order.unpaid
returns orders where paid is false - and chain attributes together, as
in Order.paid_and_delivered, Cocktail.shaken_but_not_stirred, etc.
More info here:

I''d really appreciate a few people kicking its tyres in anything other
than MySQL, or in Rails versions 1.0.x (is anyone still using those).
Comments/bugs/test reports are always welcome.

Multichannel Encoding
I'm a mathematician and programmer working on experimental surround sound
techniques. Some of the ideas I'm working on require dozens of channels.
These channels are often highly correlated and are very well suited to
compression.
I'm new to Vorbis. Does it attempt to address such issues?
Thanks,

Another Bone Head question
Whilst configuring another shorewall firewall router
for another site, I must have made some totally newbie
error....
While directly on the cable modem, it works great.
But when placed on the LAN side of my existing
Shorewall box, the NEW shorwall box could not ping,
or look up dns or anything else.
If I shutdown shorewall (clear) in the NEW box then
it could surf the net and ping etc. When
