I wants to start a win Prog called "Mathe Coach" with wine.
And yes I know that there are ohter and better Progs for linux, but it has to be that one....not my decision :-)
The occuring problem is that wine hangs in a loop and i can't make neither head nor tail of the debug messages (the file is over 10 MB large, and i abborted wine after a few seconds to avoid larger files)

flash[:notice] as coach content...
Hi,
I would like to use flash[:notice] to display coach content, e.g. "It''s
generally a bad idea to do [whatever you just did]. Click here to find out
why" - which goes to a more complete coaching page on that topic.
My questions are:
1) Does anyone know of nice snippets for doing that (e.g.
script.aculo.usfade in, fade out), and
2) It seems the (very plain) approach I''m taking doesn''t show up until the
page is reloaded. How can I make it show up right when I call it (f...

Setting a call to be recorded before Xfer?
I need to allow the company operator to decide whether to record a call.
(Car dealership that needs to coach salespeople). They don't want to record
every sales call, just for the purposes of coaching certain employees on an
ad hoc basis.
The situation is:
a. Call comes in on PSTN PRI
b. Call is routed to operator in dialplan
c. Operator ascertains that its a sales call for a salesman in need of
coaching
d. Operator needs to set the call to record status
e. Operator xfers the call to the salesm...

Is
there a way to setup a conference where party A can coach another
Party B, at the same time, all other parties cannot hear party A? In
order words, partis A and B can hear every one, and party A can only be
heard by party B.
Thnx

Great Find
Just a good joke
An old couple went into a restaurant and ordered something to eat: one Coca Cola and one portion of French fries. The old man sat down and the woman, his wife, sat opposite him, and he began to divide the Coca Cola into two glasses, half for him and half for his wife. He divided all the French fries half-and-half. He gave half to his wife and kept half for himself. Then he began

Can't get port forwarded from net to net
I have followed the instructions at http://shorewall.net/FAQ.htm#faq2
along with some coaching on IRC from _Omache to get a machine (with IP
address 66.93.22.233) to forward all port 25 traffic to another host in
my network (with IP 66.93.22.254). This has not worked. I have tested
by trying `telnet 66.93.22.233 25`, expecting to see the SMTP banner on
66.93.22.254. Of course, I don'&...

Age of Wonders access violation upon start and crashes
Hello,
I am Wine 1.3.25 installed in Mac OS X 10.6.8 via Macports 2.0.1. With it I have been able to install Age of Wonders 1.36 downloaded from GoG.com.
However:
1. The Settings configuration program gives an access violation and crashes.
2. If I start the game itself, I would hear the game's music very briefly, then it would fall silent. And at about the same time I would get an access

GF114 [GeForce GTX 560 Ti] (rev a1) slow and flickering display
I recently replaced a 8600 GT with the above card on openSUSE Tumbleweed

The screen now flickers and when I change desktops it takes a some 10 to
15 seconds to display the new windows.
e.g if I change from desktop 1 (konsole) to desktop 8 (thunderbird) it
switches but konsole is displayed for 10 to 15 seconds before
thunderbird appears.
Occasionally the screen flickers wildly before

Assertions for asynchronous behaviour
Hi all,
In GOOS[1] they use an assertion called assertEventually which samples the system for a success state until a certain timeout has elapsed. This allows you to synchronise the tests with asynchronous code.
Do we have an equivalent of that in the Ruby / RSpec world already? I know capybara has wait_until { } but that''s fairly rudimentary - the failure message isn''t very

R-1.4.0 / Atlas 3.3.13 / gcc 2.95.3 / RH 7.2 / Athlon build appears successful
The build of R-1.4.0 with Atlas 3.3.13, both compiled with gcc 2.95.3 on an
Athlon Thunderbird (1.333 GHz) running otherwise stock Red Hat Linux 7.2,
appears to have been successful. R passed all its built-in checks. This is
the first time I've been able to get all of this to work together; the last
few times I tried this (late June or early July IIRC), R did not pass its
checks when linked
