esfq ? or wrr ?
Hi
If I have a HTB class with 128kbit, and I want to
put "N" users in that class ( in order to share
bandwidth fairly ) ,
which is better for me ? esfq (hash dst) or wrr ?
I would attach esfq or wrr to HTB parent class.
Also I''ve readed on Jim script that over WRR put
a RED qdisc, but I don''t understand it.

HTB dequeueing in pairs fixed
I posted earlier when I noticed that htb was releasing packets in pairs,
even though my burst/quantums were 1 pkt.
To fix I set HTB_HYSTERESIS 0 in net/sched/sch_htb.c .
This gives a noticable gain in upstream worst case latency, for me with
256kbit/s up I used to see +90 sometimes, now it''s +45. For the many who
have 128 up it should limit them to +90 rather than +180.

QOS Script difficulty on bridge
I''m playing with the rather excellent QOS script from Alexander Clouter
at http://digriz.org.uk/jdg-qos-script/
So far I am really impressed with it - a very impressive example of the
power of linux QOS rules (has pretty much everything in it from the
LARTC Howto!) However, the instructions hint that "for QoS to affect
locally generated traffic in a non eth...

...ing bombarded for not providing a link, i guess its time. Actually
wanted to see the response first, we would like interested parties we can
communicate too in other to get updates on how the code is performing.
Please if your interested or you know someone that is, send a mail to
<alexander.clouter@connectfree.co.uk>, he''ll send you the accompanying
package by mail.
Since this is beta-testing, much reporting on its performance would be
greatly appreciated, especially on heavy networks.
Modification will still be added for multiple networks.
Thanks

com32 ssh/telnet support?
Perhaps I am being stupid and if so please enlighten me.
Assuming that all clients have reserved IP addresses on the dhcp server,
surely it would be possible to have a com32 module that presented the
boot options to both stdout and also allowed connections via ssh.
After all for the system to get the files via tftp it has to have
network connectivity so one piece of the puzzle is there already.

HTB/SFQ dequeueing in pairs
I set up a little test to see what the behaviour of (e)sfq was - because
I couldn''t work it out from the source :-) .
I wanted to see where from a slot the packets got dropped when the queue
was full. (e)sfq drops from the longest slot to make space for an
incoming packet, so it''s not tail drop as such, but the results show me
it does drop from the tail of the slot - which

ESFQ?
Hi again,
I was just looking around for ESFQ sources, and I see that the main site
is down, and only has kernel 2.6.4 patches.
Is ESFQ maintained? If so, where can I find patches for 2.6.10?
Thanks,
-justin

IMQ Stability
Hello all,
I have been doing a lot of archive searching over the last week reading
posts on IMQ and it''s apparent stability / instability. I have seen a
number of posts about it not being maintained as well. Can anyone talk to
me about IMQ''s stability in a heavy throughput environment (20 Mbps) and
what was causing IMQ to fail if you know.
Thanks,
Mike
