No, thats ok and should work, since i do that also but in AD dom, and you may not use persistant drives and you disconnect them at logoff. > > However the bigger

[OT?] Group Policy, drive maps and Cliend Site Caching...
Sorry for that email, but i'm really confused about the subject. Starting point: in current configuration (Samba, NT mode) some portable system have CSC enabled, and when go to another site... is another site, eg does not fined the domain, so simply CSC 'work'' as expected. Now that i'm moving computer to the new domain, that is the same domain across all sites, i'm not

I was using the dhcp server on my router and this was either sending no dns domain or the wrong one. I have now set up a new dhcp server on one of my DC's and this is sending the correct domain...

...cularly how they interact. >From what I can tell, Samba AD and BIND always go hand in hand, but there are at most two DHCPD servers on the net, running on two of the DCs. Is this correct? Finally, dynamic NDS updates from the DHCP server seem to take some 8 or nine seconds, during which time a cliend does not get a DHCPD ack. Sometimes the client gives up waiting. I'm currently looking into this, but here is a log: Nov 30 14:48:32 dc03.rvx.is dhcpd[15712]: Commit: IP: 192.168.53.20 DHCID: 1:0:20:85:ed:5:d0 Name: ups208 Nov 30 14:48:32 dc03.rvx.is dhcpd[15712]: execute_statement argv[0] = /...

...ate data): net -U gaio ads keytab add NFS/vdmpp1.ad.fvg.lnf.it at AD.FVG.LNF.IT -k done that, effectively the file /etc/krb5.keytab on server and client got created, with something that seems a 'key'. c) i've enabled, as stated by wiki and you, Louis, the IDMAP and GSSD/svcgssd on cliend and server as requested. OK, good start. But doing that i got: root at vdmpp2:~# mount -t nfs4 -o sec=krb5 vdmpp1:/home /home mount.nfs4: an incorrect mount option was specified After restarting the client, now i got: root at vdmpp2:~# mount -t nfs4 -o sec=krb5 vdmpp1:/home /home mount.nf...

ADDENDUM: Portable OpenSSH and GSSAPI
Dear developers, to my previous post I have some additional info. I just erased all the krb5 data and set it up from scratch. Now the message in sshd debug changed to: debug1: Miscellaneous failure (see text) Decrypt integrity check failed debug1: Got no client credentials Failed gssapi-with-mic for komanek .... So it seems the problem is somewhere in the kerberos, not in openssh. Is here

Folder Sync for road warriors in a Samba 4.8.x setup?
Hi All, I know this isn't really a Samba question per se but I'm looking for some samba-related advice.. :) I have a very small AD DC setup (5 users) and some end-users (read: teenargers) are now using laptops, which means they don't always have access to the network shares configured by GPO and Logon scripts from the Samba servers when they take the laptop to school. (The Samba
