Upgrade from 4.0.0 to 4.0.3 creates unfixable errors with dbcheck
Hello, Today I tried to upgrade from samba 4.0.0 to 4.0.3 on my test environment. I patched the source with the diffs patch-4.0.0-4.0.1.diffs, patch-4.0.1-4.0.2.diffs, patch-4.0.2-4.0.3.diffs , then make, make install. # samba-tool dbcheck Checking 807 objects Not fixing nTSecurityDescriptor on CN=Performance Monitor Users,CN=Builtin,DC=inview,DC=local <--- all errors were

Rsync bug with -x/--one-file-system and /
I checked the archives and bug lists, and didn't see this. Or rather, I saw someone report it, but it was backrev and a "non-standard" release, so that was considered out of bounds. I'm running on Ubuntu Dapper Drake, and first experienced this problem trying to do rsync backups via backuppc. I wanted to do a "don't cross filesystem boundary" backup from / so I

strange Samba - NT4 domain connectivity problem.
Hi all. I'm having a strange intermittent problem with Samba 2.2.8a losing connectivity with our PDC and BDC. We are currently having a problem with our PDC restarting due to a bug check about 2-3 times a month. When this happens and the PDC is restarted or anytime it is restarted, we are not able to map shares on any of our 5 servers using samba 2.2.8a - the fix is to kill smbd and nmbd

WERR_BAD_NET_RESP on replication (--full-sync)
Hello, We have a Windows 2008 DC (inview-dc1 and a samba 4.4.16 (inview-dc2) server as a backup DC. The system for the most-part works OK, but occasionally the Samba DC goes wildly out of sync (with respect to group membership), normally after a change to a large group. I have noted previously before the out-of-sync event occurs, this command always fails thus : root at inview-dc2:~#

WERR_BAD_NET_RESP on replication (--full-sync)
Thanks Garming. We currently use a standalone bind DNS server. Will the later version of samba work without the integrated DNS backend?
