Weird xl mem-set behavior
Hello, I''m struggling to handle the amount of memory that dom0 gets on some system. It''s a system with 8GB of RAM, running 2.6.38-6 with pv_ops and Xen 4.1 If I want to set the amount of memory for dom0, I get very bogus results. See here: http://pastebin.com/gRgY9ERN If I use the M notation (xl mem-set 0 4096M) the outcome is similarily unpredictable, and sometimes I get the

Framebuffer support in dom0
Greetings! I have installed xen-4.0 with kernel 2.6.32 on a gentoo box. Everything works perfectly, except one tiny detail. I do not have X installed on the machine, so I configured the (old, non-xen) kernel to use a framebuffer, so that I don''t have to cope with the ugly 80x25 resolution, especially on a 19" display. Unfortunately, with the xen kernel, dom0 now uses the 80x25 mode

Is there some setting that I'm missing in the conf or is this normal? -- Best regards, Claudiu Vasadi

...samba 2.2.0 on a Digital SMP server and I can tell that administering it via SWAT is the bigest step since man walking on the moon. but... SWAT eroneously reports smbd/nmbd not working while they are working. And even more, the smbd/nmbd [start]/[restart] buttons have dissapeared. Why is that ? Wine patches
Dear developer friends, Is there a chance to have daily patches to wine from CVS. Is too hard to wait a month for a big patch. Also, at my job I don't have access to open connections to anything than proxy, so CVS is not a solution. kind regards, Claudiu Costin ****************************************************************************** The information contained in this communication is confidential and may be legally privileged. The "core32" development branch
...a "Hello, World!" and a rewrite of rllpack in C. This is not production code in any way: SYSLINUX (the FAT version) is completely broken (I haven't had time to fix the installers yet) and the Linux kernel loader (as opposed to linux.c32) seems to have problems. Together with liu and Claudiu's work this summer, and eventually Stefan's from last year, this should be a major step towards a clean core. -hpa -- H. Report of collision-generation with MD5
Just got a pointer to this via ACM "TechNews Alert" for today: http://www.acm.org/technews/articles/2004-6/0818w.html#item2 Seems that "... French computer scientist Antoine Joux reported on Aug. 12 his discovery of a flaw in the MD5 algorithm, which is often used with digital signatures...." There's more in the article cited above. Want to help Wine project?
This message is for those who wants to help Wine project but do not know where to start. We need contributors of a wide range of skills. The minimal requirements are: access to a computer with Linux (or other Unix-like system) where you can use Wine. We have a lot of tasks which are relatively easy to do. The fact that these tasks are easy does not mean they are not important. Examples of the

The fsc branch merged into the elflink branch...
Well, people... I have just merged the "fsc" branch (filesystems in C, largely the work of Liu Aleaxander) and the "elflink" branch (dynamic modules, the work of Claudiu Mihail and Stefan Bucur) together... I haven't tested anything other than it compiling, but it actually does compile. There are almost guaranteed to be issues that I have missed, but well, we get to figure them out. This is a major milestone, since this gets us to the point where we can reall...
