Trying to debug a WinXP - Win2000 ADS problem.. HELP!
...to a Samba 3.0-alpha18 server. The thing that
bothers me is that it looks like my DOMAIN\USERNAME combination isn't
being honored and I'm getting in based on a check to the locally
mapped user (I have a username map in place).
The troubling things are the lines saying basically that CT\CLAD was
rejected.
The really troubling thing is that I have another user on site that
has almost the exact same log and he can't map the drive, but I can
every time. We're running the exact same type of client (installed
from the same image even).

Strange problem from "identical" hosts
Long post.. sorry.
Ok.. I've got three systems, all running openssh-3.0.2p1. As a matter
of fact, they were installed from the same built tree, so I know they are
the same.
Here's the deal. I've got three systems, call them source1, source2 and
target. All are HP-UX 11.0 systems installed from the same tree.
Source1 and source2 both have thier root rsa pub keys in target's

UK Rates for RoR Contract work?
Hi all,
I''ve been offered a short-term contract here in the North of England -
around 3 months work, but with RoR I think it will take considerably
less time - and am just curious what market rates were right now.
I''ve been offered a little under ?1k/week which seems ''right'' for a PHP
coder doing this kind of work, but should I be hitting for more, or is

[LLVMdev] Deleting unused C++ code
...a first approximation of unused code
would be so much better than nothing.
I don't have the link right here, but I saw someone was working on a project
to list unused #include files. That too would be a big boon in untangling
large 20 year old code.
I'll settle for good guesses when iron clad guarantees are provably
impossible :-)

It looks like I'm barking up the wrong tree here. When I run the command in

Filesystem experience question was Migration questions
Doing a cursory Google scan on journaled Linux filesystems, it seems
that the three ground-up journaled FSes: XFS, reiser and JFS all have
their separate strong points but all compare favorably. Reiser does a
better job with many small files...which would seem to be the reality of
maildir formatted inboxes.
Any comments on that? Any war stories, that is, any comments on
reliability,

Authorship and Attribution
A question on authorship and attribution policy for the Wiki. I
originally credited Alan Bartlett for the page content on
HowTos/ConfigureNewVideoCard, but he was not comfortable with that and
the reference got removed in the edit process. I generally do not
include my name on Wiki pages I create, but it is fairly common
practice. Should there be a statement in the Guidelines covering this

how to check linearity in Cox regression
On examining non-linearity of Cox coefficients with penalized splines - I
have not been able to dig up a completely clear description of the test
performed in R or S-plus.
>From the Therneau and Grambsch book (2000 - page 126) I gather that the test
reported for "linear" has as its null hypothesis that the spline coefficient
is the same at the center of basis. Thus, in the example

index performance issues
Running 1.0.rc22
We have a single file server, running NFS (Single large sas disk) with
about 80Gb of mail.
mount -o remount,rsize=2048,wsize=2044,actimeo=0,soft,rw
xx.xx.xx.xx:/mailboxes /nfs1
There are 3 front end pop/imap servers using an LVS director.
Indexes are stored on each front end server.

Need help with code generation
...g for is the same guarantee (not a very strong
guarantee - you haven't provide it's defined for all valid inputs, I'm sure
(formal proofs are really expensive, and buggy, and even fuzzing just helps
it doesn't guarantee)) for other inputs - in both cases we know it's not an
iron clad guarantee/proven truth.

[LLVMdev] Deleting unused C++ code
I think what you're looking for is something like Doxygen or CodeViz
that can generate (imperfect) call graphs for you. It sounds like you
just need a rough list of functions that might be unused to start
with.
