[SUMMARY] Re: New installation (samba passwords)
...is now working like a champ.
I'm now wondering about an enhancement to smbpasswd that will allow
UNIX-like password expiration and forced changes. And of course, now we
need samba-crack.... Meanwhile, it's looking great! This is going to
save us a lot of hassles!

registry, I'm not going to be able to use Samba. Am I missing something?
Certainly wouldn't be the first time.
How do I use Samba without compromising security on my server AND
without modifying the client?

How to sync /etc/smbpasswd with /etc/passwd ?
While we do sync our /etc/passwd whenever /etc/smbpasswd is changed via the
Samba sync option that does not seem to be possible the other way round:
I just want a /etc/smbpasswd generated from my /etc/passwd with the correct
passwords as used for the UniX login...
Is that possible ?

Conversely, on many systemms that CANNOT see samba in the browse list,
the user can mount the server with the \\system\directory path.
Terribly confusing. Any pointers or ideas welcome.

multi_search will not work
I am trying to get multi_search to search across multiple models. I
have the following:
class Drug < ActiveRecord::Base
acts_as_ferret :store_class_name => true
end
class Target < ActiveRecord::Base
acts_as_ferret :store_class_name => true
end
and I am trying to query via:
@drugs = Drug.multi_search(params[:query], [Target])
But I get no results. If I go:
@drugs =
