Can one perform a QDA in R? I do not see it anywhere within the mda
package. Any pointers here would be appreciated.
Thanks,

RMySQL on OS X
I noticed in the collection of contributed packages for the OSX release
of R, there is no RMySQL package. Does anyone know if one exists, or
otherwise, how to connect to relational databases from R on Mac? Any
help mode appreciated.

Cryptic error message
I have been trying for some time to run a British financial program,
called ShareScope, under Wine. It is the sole remaining reason for me to
run Windows, so I am keen to succeed. The developers of the program
claim to have run it successfully under Wine, but they don't provide
support. Since this is a minority interest, I realise that I will have
to solve the problem myself, but I'm

WG: NAT Issue
...d of nat
put to your masq file
vlan350 eth1:172.16.1.23 1.1.1.198
The benefit of masq is to have control about proto and port as well.
If you use masq you can delete your nat file entry.
If you tar.bz2 your dump it should become smaller. Try ''tar -cjf
status.txt.tar.bz2 {your dump file}''
Cheers
Michael

canonical correspondence analysis
Is there an R function that does canonical correspondence analysis. Can
it be done using the VR function corresp()?
If not, how hard it be to write R code to do it? I am a population
biologist with long but patchy programming experience in C, Smalltalk,
Java and other languages.

Archive maildir
...the size of the mail isn't in the multi terabyte range, just use filtering to do this for you (filtering of tour choice, I'd guess most any filtering could handle it).
But the question is, why do you have to archive this 180GB of mail?
Do you simple have to preserve it? In that case, tax cjf works great! After all, sorting mail that no one is ever going to look at is unlikely to be worth the effort, is it?
If you need to have constant access to it, then you should probably get those emails into a fast DB of some sort.

If you read the code snippet carefully, you will see that tdbbackup
backs up each .ldb file 'tdbbackup $ldb', this results in files named
*.ldb.bak.
