which print tool: CUPS vs BSD?
Which printing mnechansim works best with Samba? CUPS or BSD? I suspect that BSD support in Samba is not the greatest. smbprint
While trying to configure my *nix box to print to windows, I discovered my samba build does not have the smbprint utility. I saw no option in the configure/make script to build with the smprint utility. Is there an option that will build this tool? Thanks! When I check the status of the spool on the linux side, the lock file is being generated, and the stauts shows the printer as being ready and available for printing. Printers and other stuff
...I see here is that the majority of users use CUPS as the printing daemon. From my previous Unix experieince, I have gravitated towards BSD as my printing daemon. Best method for this?
...nment. One of the reasons I am upgrading to 9.2 is becuase the SuSE 9.x relase has (supposedly) better CUPS and Samba support. Is there something I need to do when installing printers (WS1 - Epson FX-85 printer, WS2 - HP 660C, W2K - HP 612C) for the various workstations? Thank you in advance, Joe Cipale

Printer Issue with Access XP
Hi all, I'm having an issue with printing on a samba shared printer from Access XP 2002. This issue has already been reported twice on this list but never answered. We are experiencing a strange problem using Microsoft Access XP 2002 to create a report when the default printer is set to a network Samba Printer. We have already tried setting 'default devmode = yes' on the

Phantom competing domain master browser
My FC 2 server with Samba 3.0.10 had been working fine before I removed the second NIC I had installed. Since that time I have been unable to convince Samba that it is the domain master browser; it continues to find an existing master browser at the IP address for the now non-existent NIC. I have searched to remove all references to the old IP address from configuration files, but have found

Sharing a Secondary Hard Drive
I just recently installed a second hard drive in my Samba server with the hopes of sharing it with the rest of my home network. It seems like Samba can not get the correct permissions to the drive, however. I have the drive mounted under /media/public, and when I try to map a share directly to it and open the share with a client, I get an NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME error. When I map the
