Can I create a mirror for a root rpool?
On Solaris 10 If I install using ZFS root on only one drive is there a way to add another drive as a mirror later? Sorry if this was discussed already. I searched the archives and couldn''t find the answer. Thank you.

polarcypto and tsi libraries, needed in Wine
Doe anyone know where I can get PolarCrypto.dll and TSI.dll libraries from so that I can load them through Wine on my Mac. I was lucky enough to get other libraries that I was missing from Winetricks but still need these last two. I get error messages that they are needed when I try to load TroopMaster 2010 application through Wine on a Mac. Thanks

NFS issue with ZFS
I have Solaris 10 U7 that is exporting ZFS filesytem. The client is Solaris 9 U7. I can mount the filesytem just fine but I am unable to write to it. showmount -e shows my mount is set for everyone. the dfstab file has option rw set. So what gives? zfs allow does not work for rpool
I am trying to give a general user permissions to create zfs filesystems in the rpool. zpool set=delegation=on rpool zfs allow <user> create rpool both run without any issues. zfs allow rpool reports the user does have create permissions. zfs create rpool/test cannot create rpool/test : permission denied. Can you not allow to the rpool? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

zvol used apparently greater than volsize for sparse volume
What does it mean for the reported value of a zvol volsize to be less than the product of used and compressratio? For example, # zfs get -p all home1/home1mm01 NAME PROPERTY VALUE SOURCE home1/home1mm01 type volume - home1/home1mm01 creation 1254440045 - home1/home1mm01 used 14902492672

I want to return the value 2 for this pair as well as that for all pairs. Is there a fast way to do this avoiding loops? Loops take too long. Thank you, Cindy [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Solaris 11 System Reboots Continuously Because of a ZFS-Related Panic (7191375)
I''ve hit this bug on four of my Solaris 11 servers. Looking for anyone else who has seen it, as well as comments/speculation on cause. This bug is pretty bad. If you are lucky you can import the pool read-only and migrate it elsewhere. I''ve also tried setting zfs:zfs_recover=1,aok=1 with varying results. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26502_01/html/E28978/gmkgj.html#scrolltoc

truncated normal
Hi, I want to generate random samples from truncated normal say Normal(0,1)Indicator((0,1),(2,4)). It has more than one intervals. In the library msm, it seems to me that the 'lower' and 'upper' arguments can only be a number. I tried rtnorm(1,mean=0,sd=1, lower=c(0,2),upper=c(1,4)) and it didn't work. Can you tell me how I can do truncated normal at more than one intervals?

local regression using loess
...umerical covariates. I know I can use logistic regression to fit the data. But I want to consider more locally. So I am wondering how can I fit the data with 'loess' function in R? And what will be the response: 0/1 or the probability in either group like in logistic regression? Thank you, Cindy [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Backing up OS drive?
I have one drive that I''m running OpenSolaris on and a 6-drive RAIDZ. Unfortunately I don''t have another drive to mirror the OS drive, so I was wondering what the best way to back up that drive is. Can I mirror it onto a file on the RAIDZ, or will this cause problems before the array is loaded when booting? What about zfs send and recv to the RAIDZ? -- This message posted from

RAIDZ v. RAIDZ1
So, I took four 1.5TB drives and made RAIDZ, RAIDZ1 and RAIDZ2 pools. The sizes for the pools were 5.3TB, 4.0TB, and 2.67TB respectively. The man page for RAIDZ states that "The raidz vdev type is an alias for raidz1." So why was there a difference between the sizes for RAIDZ and RAIDZ1? Shouldn''t the size be the same for "zpool create raidz ..." and "zpool
