vsifax on Centos 5.1
All.... I am trying to install vsifax on a 64 bit Centos 5.1 system. The Esker staff have been helpful but no cigar. At first they thought the problem might be related to a 64 bit machine so I tried to install vsifax on a 32 bit Centos 5.1 machine and received the same error. One of their installation scripts is trying to execute a binary called eula which fails. ./eula: cannot execute binary file The tec...

close but no cigar
Hi Everyone: It turns out that there's still a small ( I hope ) problem. I'm close but that only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. Here's my problem: When trying to load a package that I am writing, the load is looking for the packageDescription function in the utils package but not finding the utils package. I looked on cran and utils is not there which makes me think that it

...into the machine with an AD user, it creates the the home directory. I can't figure out why because my pam.d configs are configured for this to happen. But obviously I'm missing something. One thing I did try as a result from googling is changing the /home/MYDOM directory to 777, but no cigar. Here's my pam.d configs and smb.conf below. Thanks in advance. /etc/pam.d/samba: auth include common-auth account include common-account password include common-password session include common-session /etc/pam.d/sshd auth include common-auth aut...

Another newbie question...
...he red hat machine, set permissions 777, I can see the samba server on my windows 2000 server and my xp pro workstation. When I click on the listed samba server in my network neighborhood, a logon screen is returned, I have tried every userid and pw combination I could think of having used, no cigar. Please... how to eliminate first row in datafile created in do loop
...n initial set of zeroes in. I'd like to be able to insert a new column "i.value" for each time "i" increments 1 thru 12, to represent the 12 months, but I can't figure out how to join the value of i to the "lower" and "upper" variables. Close but no cigar here. lower=0 upper=0 limit.list<-data.frame(lower,upper) for(i in 1:12){ s=subset(paleo, month==i); one.month=with(s, quantile(WBpaleo, c(.25, .75), na.rm=T)); limit.list<-rbind(limit.list,one.month) } limit.list which gives me this: > limit.list lower upper 1...

intercept of 3D line? (Orthogonal regression)
...ntly about fitting 3D data x, y, z where all have error attached. I want to predict z from x and y; something like z = b0 + b1*x + b2*y But multiple regression is not suitable because all of x, y, and z have errors. I have plotted a 3D scatterplot of some data using rgl. I see that the data form a cigar-shaped cloud. I think multiple regression is only suitable when the points fall on a plane (forgetting about the error in x and y). I now know the right way how to find the best fitting plane to x,y,z data using princomp. But a new problem is how to get the best fitting *line*. I actually know how...

[Q] DIDs
...nable price. I brought my Linux Magazine in to the office yesterday and mentioned the article. Guess what? Yup, now it sounds like a good deal even if we do it ourselves. Three questions came up and I didn't find them in the FAQs though a couple of the linked to sites got close but still no cigar. 1. Does the software/(or cards?) support DIDs; as in the called number is reported verses the line/extension the called number is pointed-to/cones-in-on? (Be gentle I'm not all the phone savvy.) 2. And has anyone used NORSTAR phones with Asterisk? As in plugged them in and they work similar...

7 points of comparison Polycom 430/501 and Aastra 480i. Which one to choose ?
I need to provide a 80 people office with VOIP. I want to commit to one vendor Polycom or Aastra. Price of the phones is not a factor in the decision. The quality of the phones is the factor. Some of the features that I am evaluating on are: (arranged in order of priority) 1. Sound quality 2. complete product line with conference phone and receptionist phone (not on Aastra) 3. cordless (not on

A *very* strange C 7 question
Ok, I've got a user, I just built him a C 7 machine. The new one has an ATI card; the old had an NVidia card. I got it to use the radeon driver, so it looks ok (he has a very wide screen). However... he has a program that renders a molecule (which you see as many connected lines, in various colors). However... it used to display it against a black background, and suddenly, it's a

Can Asterisk and new ShoreTel 6 talk to each other?
...of ShoreTel work? The closest I've gotten to the Asterisk server talking to the ShoreTel server is by watching Ethereal on the Asterisk server, and I can see that the Asterisk server sends the INVITE, but the ShoreTel switch sends back a "SIP Status: 404 Not Found". Close, but no cigar. :) Anybody got any helpful thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!! ----------------------- - Jimmy Madden - Network Administrator - Health Services, Inc. - Montgomery, AL 36104
