use of R in big companies (references) & R-support esp in Germany
...ment project
for a big conservative company in Germany. As part of the project
we would use R to run simulations, but the company is afraid of R.
1) If anybody has any reference projects using R I can quote, please
drop me an email. Best would be companies like Siemens, Allianz,
Munich Re, Daimler Chrysler, Credit Suisse etc.
2) Are there any software companies around with R know-how and are
interested in paid R-projects? The bigger the company, the better
as this client seems to be scared of software companies with less
than 200 developers.
Thanks,
-Armin

Hi,
I'm having a problem with sshd showing the wrong last login entry, that is,
it shows the current login. I didn't notice it until recently, but it seems
that it has been there since version 2.2...

How to set macaddr with nmcli
I see my problem.? I mis-read what
nmcli con mod eth0 mac "02:67:15:00:81:0B"
does.? It sets HWADDR; which interface to link to, not MACADDR, what MAC
address you want for your interface.
So I have read the nmcli pages and googled a bit.? I cannot find a way
to set MACADDR.? I suppose I can set HWADDR then use sed to change it to
MACADDR, but this seems a real hack.

Caldera-SCO figured IBM would want the rights to UNIX(R), and IBM
would settle in short order. When IBM didn't, they expanded the
lawsuit and put up a "smokescreen." They want people to believe
their various contractual disputes with IBM, Autozone, Chrysler, etc...
are about Linux IP, when they have _no_ ground to stand on.
So far, the gambit has worked, largely thanx to the rabid Linux
populous who knows nothing about Monetery, and the fact that
even the most pro-Linux company is _not_ IBM's friend if you
threatened their Power/AIX platforms. J...

Really? Then I'll re-read them since there's been a second confirmation.

I have been quietly watching the list for the last year (no new issues for
me that weren''t covered in the docs or promptly "bug-fixed" by Tom. Boy,
has this grown exponentially! Anyway, back to the point (the proverbial
rearranging the furniture)... I have been evaluating Mandrake''s MNF as an
upgrade for my Firewall box. If I do this( and even if I
