New Improved Chime
This marks the first community contribution to the Chime visualization tool for DTrace. A huge thanks to Bill Rushmore for creating a new main window for Chime. Previously a simple stack of buttons, Chime now uses the Netbeans Matisse layout to present a scrollable list and a description pane. When you create a new display, you can now provide helpful descriptive text. Bill also pointed out

Chime Clarification: Buildable on only nv_35 or Runnable?
Would Studio 10, or Studio 11 be preferable to build? This message posted from opensolaris.org

trouble (NoSuchMethodException) creating new chime display
I am trying to create some new Chime displays using the new display wizard. I''m practicing by basing them off an existing display. When I get to the end of the wizard and press finish, I get an NoSuchMethodException: org.opensolaris.chime.util.TableSortCriteria.getAscending error (more details below). I''ve watched Tom Erickson''s screencast several times, and read

The FCS version (1.0) of the NetBeans DTrace GUI Plugin + Chime is published on the NetBeans Update Center. tests/ok-errors.R ## bad infinite recursion
I've come across a handful of tests that fail at our site. I consider this one the worst because the process does not return. The patch below simply bypasss the test, but the errors in the out file are included as well. I suspect this is due to more or tighter ulimits on this system. But I'm not sure if this is result of different expectations (kernel/userland) of what should be done in

Doorbells & Door Intercoms
Hi, Does anybody know of a VoIP compatible doorbell or door intercom unit? I've contemplated buying a cheap SIP phone, ripping it apart, and putting it inside an IP66 sealed unit... It would need: - At least one speed-dial key, or some way to make every button dial the same extension number - PoE (power over ethernet), so I can power it off the central switch - cheap enough to rip apart

Re: [brandz-discuss] Re: BrandZ, Xen and Chime for Solaris 10 U3 ?
Xen will not be in update 4. We are pushing towards integrating into Nevada sometime this summer. We''re actively working on getting another release out to OpenSolaris. I have my latest attempt at building an ISO image spinning in another window right now. This new release will be based on Nevada build 66. It''s been a ridiculously long time since our last release, and I

[LLVMdev] LLVM 2.4 problem? (resend)
> True, but note that it is the address of a variable that is used, not > the value. Yes, but why do you think they should get a different address? I can understand that it is surprising that they do, but determining whether this is legal or not requires reading the language standard. Hopefully a language lawyer can chime in and say whether this transform is valid or not. Ciao,

Should digium build a 2FXO / 2FXS 4-port daughter board?
Please chime in if you've ever wished for digium to make a 4-port daughter board with a combination of 2FXO AND 2FXS ports on the same card. When using the 800 series cards, one must either choose 4-port permutations of FXS/FXO, OR one must give up 2 valuable ports. In other words, when you add ONE 100-series daughter board, you give up TWO of your physical ports. Is there a technical

Fedora Core 5 and Windows 98
Greetings All, My problem is trying to mount an SMB share from Fedora Core5 to a Windows 98 Machine. Before upgrading from FC4 to FC5 everything worked. I have searched around and it appears that the smbmount and mount -t smbfs options have been deprecated in Samba 3.0.22-1 in favor of CIFS. The command I have been trying now is: mount -t cifs //192.168.0.126/laptop /mnt/share -o username=chime

Change to set_fixture_class
So, I sat down to use set_fixture_class, and it bombed on the first thing I tried: set_fixture_class :content_drafts => "Article::Draft" I made a quick patch, and I''d appreciate a quick run through your tests to make sure it doesn''t disturb anything: http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/4095 As I was typing this, I realized that the string gives us no benefits. What version comes after 3.9? (Was: [3.9 Release] Release plan and call for testers)
Breaking this out into a separate thread since it's kind of a separate issue, and to make sure people see it. If you have opinions on this, please chime in. I'd like to collect as many arguments here as possible to make a good decision. The main contestants are 4.0 and 3.10, and I've seen folks being equally surprised by both. Brain-dump so far: - After LLVM 1.9 came 2.0, and after

Java plugins in browsers through Wine
Yes, I know it sounds silly, but I need to enable java support in the browsers- either IE or Firefox- that I'm running through Wine from Linux. It's because a site I want to access requires the Chime plugin, available only for Windows, but also a functional Java VM. When I run the Java SDK or JRE installers through wine, the installation gets to a certain point and then stops because
