checker/chequer board pattern as a colour
Hi All,
is there a reasonably simple way of using a black and white chequer/checker board pattern as a colour:
barplot(mydata, col = c('red', 'blue' 'checkerboard'))

Removing cran mirrors
Hi all,
What's the procedure for removing out of date cran mirrors? I've just
discovered the fantastic http://cran.r-project.org/mirmon_report.html,
but there 4 mirrors that have not been updated in over a month, and
quite a few others that have a chequered past. Given that there are
many additional mirrors available, and the poor user experience if a
bad mirror is selected, perhaps these poorly functioning mirrors could
be removed from the list?

SAMBA PROBLEM ON LINUX
Guys,
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question but I am using
Redhat 6.2 Linux and Samba 2.2.1a. We have Windows NT Workstations and 2000
servers with which we need to talk to. (Note: Can't upgrade to Redhat 7.2
or Samba 2.2.2 due to company requirements at least for a few more months.)

The perils of GMAX
gmax won't start up after the initial time. The messages I am getting indicate that it has become case sensitive with respect to names. The installer put in a directory named 'stdplugs' but the program wanted it to be 'StdPlugs'. So I renamed it. It still says these libraries fail to initialize. I must be missing a windows module but I did put in the recommended winetricks
