...thing is this: My office is scouting out VoIP solutions, and I have suggested an asterisk solution. We will be getting our voice lines over 9 channels of a t1. I feel comfortable enough with asterisk to set this up, but I am concerned about the Wildcard T100P's sound quality. I got the cheapy X100P clone, and it does some weird things ( example: Remote caller hangs up, and the card doesn't detect it. Random hang ups, ect...While I haven't gotten obsesive with the config files, I have done some work trying to eliminate the problems. No luck yet ), and while I'm guessing...

After speaking with several people, and even participating in a forum of several other people with echo issues, I thought I'd share what we've done (well actually what our chief R&D engineer, Brett Bourn has done...) First let me say that normal cheapy PC hardware couldn't be made to function with out echo. We tried on both the single port Digium T1 card and the 4 port Digium T1 card. Even on a SuperMicro Dual PIII-933 w/ hardware scsi raid we had echo issues. We moved everything to a Compaq DL380 dual PIII-833MHz (notice a slower machine)...

Hey, I only got a Voodoo Banshee because one was up for auction locally, and I could get it cheap. I also had good results with a cheapie S3 card. I just ran into a completely unexpected problem. It appears that the Kingston SOHO Hubs don't do TCP. They do NETBEUI very well. After 4 hours of troubleshooting I went home and got my cheap Bay Networks 8 port hub and everything worked. This is to hopefully prevent others from running into the same problem.
