Powercom RS232 driver improvement/rewrite
...d it now supports autoresume without power races :). However I was puzzled about the fact that the serial port looked like "smart", so I tried searching in google images with random searches about ups until I found something like my unit (at least in shape). It was a SOLA S1K320, and the chasis really looked like my unit, excluding power connectors and front panel. I could find the manual, and saw that the serial port description matched with what I had reverse engineered. According to the manual, some leds of my units are only available in the 650VA version, but mine looks like a 500VA....

Is HP server hardware incompatible with Xen?
Hi, We''ve been using xen with pc clones for some time now. But now the boss wants to get serious and start using real servers. We''ve been looking at HP. I got in touch with a couple of distributors for prices and much to my suprise, I''ve been told by one HP Partner that Xen does not run on HP hardware. (a ProLiant ML 150) He continued to tell me that he could offer me

Zfs best practice for 2U SATA iSCSI NAS
...l directly on the storage server has was postives as well, although a generic storage appliance has a better admin profile. Some questions: 1. how stable is zfs? i''m tolarent to some sweat work to fix problems but data loss is unacceptable 2. If drives need to be pulled and put into a new chasis does zfs handle them having new device names and being out of order? 3. Is it possible to hot swap drives with raidz(2) 4. How does performance compare with ''brand name'' storage systems? Thanks Nicholas

successful echo cancellation!!! (multitech)
We recently had a customer install that went horribly wrong. Serious echo (pots lines into a cac cb) that, although * did a good job getting rid of alot of it, could not get rid of it all. We tried everything, every canceller, gain setting, etc... combination possible to no avail. Both the vegastream and mediatrix boxes also could not get rid of all of the echo. So, on an off chance, we

Static Problem... Ahhh!
Hello, Has anyone else ever experienced Static Problems with a T100P connected to an Adtran Total Access 750? We have two FXO modules in the Chasis to interface to Verizon. At first I thought it was just one line, and was Verizon's fault, but now we are seeing it across all lines and it comes and goes. It's sort of weird, because only we can hear the static most of the time. The remote party can not hear it. I tried setting the IDE...

Re: 8 pstn lines+ on Asterisk supported
Hi timebandit, I'm realy happy to hear that, and as a matter of fact, all my Asterisk hardware is Intel server products, from chasis to MB. I know I can trust this hardware and I have excellent support from the guys I buy from. Thank you. >Message: 5 >Date: Mon, 3 Jan 2005 15:48:47 -0500 >From: <timebandit001@gmail.com> >Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] 8 pstn lines+ on Asterisk supported > hardware. >To:...

Asterisk on IBM Netvista 2800 8364-EXX?
Hello I'm looking at my options to build a compact, silent, headless Asterisk server to handle one or two FXO ports. Out of curiosity, I got one of those babies on eBay for 20E: http://silicon-verl.de/home/flo/software/netstation-8364/ Before I spend time on this, can someone tell me if... 1. it's easy to install Linux on those things (am willing to add a CF-to-IDE adapter to use a

Force SATA1 on AOC-SAT2-MV8
I have a supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 and am having some issues getting drives to work. From what I can tell, my cables are to long to use with SATA2. I got some drives to work by jumpering them down to sata1, but other drives I can''t jumper without opening the case and voiding the drive warranty. Does anyone know if there is a system setting to drop it back to SATA1? I use zfs on a raid2 if

Question on echo's for Canadian Asterisk users ...
Has anyone has issues with echo using a Wildcard with a PRI from a major Canadian Telco? (Bell, Telus, AllStream, Sprint, Group Telecom). We are using a T1 from GT that is giving use annoying echos whenever a SIP/IAX2 client calls a local analog line. Calling cells phones is no issue since its digital. Regardless, there should be no issue with echo on a PRI at all. NOC at GT is telling us

Hardware serial number access from (a) command(s)
Over the weekend, I had to make a technical support call on one of my DVD burners, and at one point the recorded message mentioned I should have my serial number handy. I thought there was a way to read that from at least one piece of software on the system, but I couldn't remember one and man -k on a number of subjects was unrevealing. Can someone enlighten me (us)? Thanks. mhr
