"Plotting" text?
I noticed that the text() command adds text to a plot. Is there a way to either make the plot blank or add text to a "blank sheet". I would like to "plot" a page that contains just text, no plot lines, labels, etc. Suggestions? Kevin [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Leap year?
Given a Date object or simply a year is there an R function to tell me if the it is a leap year or not? I was hoping for something like 'is.leapyear'. I probably can build my own function (year divisible by 4 etc.) but I would rather use an existing function if it is available. Thank you. Kevin

4Story charters, monsters, mounts are not animated
Hi, 4Story is free mmorpg game, some kind WoW clone. Its run fine but has really annoying bug reported here http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17488 by Pat and confirmed by me and Irfan Adilovic. There is nothing going on around this bug since February. Its not random bug its rather solid ;) so maybe finding it and fixing wont be so hard. In addition, as I said before game is totally free so

Can I send rendered .html to somewhere besides the web server?
Is there any way to tell Rails to send the .html file it renders somewhere other than the web server? I need to save a page to the server''s file system instead of sending it to the user''s browser. Function not returning a vector?
Why does: (shape/scale) * (1:365/scale)^(shape - 1) return a vector of numbers but calling a function hasard(1:365,shape,scale) defined like: hazard <- function(x,shape, scale) { return (shape/scale) * (x/scale)^(shape - 1) } Only return a single value? It is like x becomes a single value passed as an argument. Thank you. Kevin

Need HELP changing link_to_remote to a button
I would really appreciate some help with changing a link_to_remote call to a button of some sort. Here''s a little background. On the page there are two <div>s. One is a form that lets the visitor enter items. The second <div> is where the entered items get displayed, each in it''s own item <div>. Each item <div> has two <span>s. The first one

Best cheap card to use for home Asterisk system???
Hi all - I'm building an Asterisk system (Trix2.2) for the house- I'd like to do the following things: I have a single phone line (happens to be Charter Communications VOIP, but I have their ATA and they've connected to red/green pair in the house wiring) What I'd like to do is this: Get some low-end but reliable card/external adapter which would connect to their ATA and tie into Asterisk to take calls and faxes I'm assuming th...

Power functions?
I had a question about the basic power functions in R. For example from the R console I enter: -1 ^ 2 [1] -1 but also -1^3 [1] -1 -0.1^2 [1] -0.01 Normally pow(-1, 2) return either -Infinity or NaN. Has R taken over the math functions? If so I would think that -1^2 is 1 not -1 and -0.1^2 is 0.01 not -0.01. Thank you. Kevin

Voice Prompt Info
...u have other suggestions, let me know. I will be collecting these for about a week so please try to get them to me in that time frame. I am hopeful that, with these prompts, it will be possible to make a complete (albeit fairly generic) tree, all with the same voice. Thanks; James alspachfam at charter dot net

IAXy echo avoidance/cancellation
...answer. I'm assuming the IAXy has some primitive form of echo cancel, is there anyway to adjust this? Or any ideas on what to do instead. Here's the setup, this will not be a typical setup for our company however, well whatever. Anyway it looks like this: IAXy --> Netgear router --> Charter --> Level3 --> Asterisk --> VOIP or analog. The problem being calls made to or from anything on the far end results in about a half second echo on their end. I got my echo cancel working on our PRI and FXS/POTS devices pretty good. This happens even to say a SIP phone for example. Therefo...

Interesting observation
I have an interesting observation which I thought I'd pass along to save other people from spending time trying to 'fix' it. One of my clients uses Charter's so called "business phone service". They provide 'analog' phone lines over IP. In general, they've worked OK. End users were saying that the phone are "cutting out" at times. What I've observed is they actually do "cut out" (meaning all inbou...

[RFC] Proposal for CIRCT incubator project
...icense, patent, and code of conduct policies laid out in this developer policy document. Contributions are currently ApacheV2 licensed and we have adopted the general structure of the LLVM developer policies already, to the extent that we can as an external project. - Must have a documented charter and development plan, e.g. in the form of a README file, mission statement, and/or manifesto. See https://github.com/circt/circt and https://github.com/circt/circt/blob/master/docs/Charter.md - Should conform to coding standards, incremental development process, and other expectations....
