Change AD DC IP address
Hi All! I have an AD domain with two DC. I will need to join third DC to existing domain and then change it ip address. I found thos page on wiki: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Change_IP_address_of_an_Samba_AD_DC Have somebody a real exprerience with this? Other clients and servers rely only on dns records, what records? (which list of records I may check to test that it all points to new address?) Maybe somebody breaking domain by this, as promised at the article head? :) -- Mike Lykov, system admin...

Inconsistency in LSA database prevents me to edit DNS zone
Hi all A few month ago I had to change the IP address of my DC running Samba 4 and Bind 9 as backend, in a LXC container running Debian 8u2. I followed this documentation https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Change_IP_address_of_an_Samba_AD_DC The documentation was rather good, but I found it was incomplete while updating the DNS entries with samba_dnsupdate --verbose I had to use the DNS management MMC console to update all entries containing the old IP address of my DC, not mentioned in the errors reported by the above command. A f...

Moving the 1st DC (FSMO) to another site - howto?
...ber (file) server. 2. After dealing with the physical file server's network settings, I altered the IP of the DC according to this link (I had read in some Microsoft links that it is advised to update the IP prior to moving over the DC; for whatever reason): https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Change_IP_address_of_an_Samba_AD_DC This link mentions some places where in the last step the IP actually has to be changed on the server (ifcfg-eth0, /etc/hosts) but does not explicitly name /etc/resolv.conf - might be added to the wiki. 3. I created the new site (the old one still is Default-First-Site-Name; I left it untouched...

Changed IP address causing trobule
Hello, I have problem since we changed our IP address of the server from 192.168.1.16 to 192.168.11 and now Samba's internal KDC doesn't authenticate any users and it won't let me change DNS records as a result of that. Is there any way of "manually" changing IP address in some file somewhere? Or is there any other way of getting around this? Regards, Luka
