chan_skinny & XML Files for 7920

Chan_SCCP vs. Chan_Skinny
Lacy's response in the thread 'Why does everyone seem to dislike *now?', has a small bit that caught my eye. Chan_Skinny made a lot of progress between 1.2 and 1.4, and even more in the later 1.4.X releases. I am curious as to which features/functions that chan_skinny might be lacking compared to chan_sccp. We (the community) now have a small, but active, group of volunteers working on the chan_skinny code. I'...

chan_skinny still maintained?
Hi, I've managed to acquire a few Cisco handsets (7905, 7920) and would like to use them with Asterisk. Rather than simply switching to the SIP firmware I thought I'd use these with chan_skinny - partly because this is Cisco's primary firmware and therefore the phones might be more stable, and partly to help test chan_skinny as it seems to be generally underused. (Is functionality identical across both firmwares?) However, I've come across a couple of showstoppers and am not real...

chan_skinny core dump
Hi all: I've got some core dumps with chan_skinny. The client is ATA186 with v2.16.1.ms ata18x (Build 030814a). The * version is CVS-10/05/03-16:03:26. When I make a call, the phone connected with ATA rings only 1 time and * dies. Maybe I have some errores in ATA config. If someone has proven configs for ATA, please send me the details. Thanks in...

disable chan_skinny and chan_oss
How do I disable chan_skinny and chan_oss? I think chan_skinny is associated with Cisco hardware, since I don't have any I don't need this channel. I just want to get rid of those warning messages at start up. -- #Joseph

Asterisk + Cisco 7920 + chan_sccp or chan_skinny
...few postings in the past regarding the interop of Asterisk and the Cisco 7920 WiFi phone. To date, I have not seen a definitive method to getting the phone working. Assuming someone has this actually working, can that person step up and answer these questions. 1) What Channel is it working with (chan_skinny or chan_sccp)? 2) If code was used that is not a part of a current Asterisk CVS release, exactly where did that code come from? 3) What specifically is needed in the config files (skinny.conf or sccp.conf, SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml etc)? An example would be great. 4) Are any specific firmware v...

Softkeys wrong with chan_skinny
Hi, as noone out there seems to be able to maintain chan_sccp, i'm trying to switch to chan_skinny. With the newest 1.4 svn the Softkeys are mostly wrong/non functional. I see Redial NewCall CFwdAll more (more) CFwdBu... GPickUp Confrn more NewCall works, CFwdAll seems to toggle DnD, the rest of the buttons do notting. Any ideas how to fix this? chan_skinny Feature set & Development
Hello ... I'm working with SCCP only phones (ie, Cisco 7910s) and happened to notice that the chan_skinny driver seems to be missing some significant features. Most, if not all, button features (STIMULUS messages) are not implemented and callwaiting crashes the phone. Has there been much development with this driver not part of the standard CVS tree, or is there a diferent driver that is more comp...

Setup speed dials on Cisco 7921
I've added lines like this: speeddial = 123,test speeddial = 260,Bob in the [device] section for my 7921, but the speed dials do NOT appear on the menu (click right from the main screen). Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks MD -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

[Release] Skinny Support in cvs
If you have been paying attention, you already know this, but this weekend I have spent time ironing out the various details with my chan_skinny code that has been out there, if you knew where to look. I believe I now have all basic features operational and am going to be working on getting the class 5 (hold, transfers, call waiting and caller*id, etc) operational in the comming week(s). I have personally tested this code on 7910 and...

Possible chan_skinny problems - no ringtone, no moh and no queue messages
...can see mpg123 in the process list and ls -l the fd shows a pipe open from asterisk to mpg123. I created a dummy extension that played back the queue message, called it from a skinny and it's fine. Any ideas? Also, I read somewhere that the two skinny implementations (chan_sccp and chan_skinny) were going to be merged, any news on this? Here's a skinny debug of a call being made to a queue: Linux3*CLI> skinny debug Skinny Debugging Enabled -- Starting simple switch on '111@steve' Collected digit: [6] -- Asked to indicate 'Stop tone' conditio...

Cisco 7961 + 7914, speeddials, BLF & Asterisk 1.4?
...if this works reliably. I have a 7961 on skinny registering on an 1.4.19 box with chan_sccp and speeddials work fine so that part seems ok. I have no experience with the BLF part. >From googling around it seems that BLF on the 7914 only works with skinny. Is that the case? If so, anyone know if chan_skinny as part of Asterisk 1.4 will do or will I need to use chan_sccp? Any other requirements or patches needed? Your feedback is most appreciated. Regards, Patrick

chan_skinny and firmware upgrade
Hello all, I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my cisco 7910 without using CCM. I was told that chan skinny is possibly capable of doing that and would like to make sure. I have P00405000600 firmware which I have put in version in skinny.conf. the phone basiclaly stops at verifying load. tcpdump shows nothing happening apart from small amount of traffic to port 2000 (skinny). Does anyone
