Mixing SCSI devices on a single i/f
I have an external HP SureStore DLT VS80 with a SCSI LVD 68 pin
interface and an external HP SureStore DAT24 with a SCSI Centronics
50 pin Narrow SE interface. The cable for the DAT has a Centronics
connector at one end and a 68 Pin Wide to Narrow terminated
connector at the other. The cable for the DLT has a LVD/SE 68 pin
connector at both ends. I have terminator blocks for both devices.

Poor sound quality on ISDN BRI calls
I've been struggling with connection Asterisk to ISDN BRI lines for a
while.
I have it working with the latest bristuff and compatible Asterisk
version:
Asterisk 1.0.3-BRIstuffed-0.2.0-RC3a
I am using a cheap Centronics ISDN card and the zaphfc drivers.
It works but users complain that the sound quality is not good.
They have Xlite phones on their desktops.
Xlite to Xlite through Asterisk is fine.
Xlite to PSTN through ISDN is not good.
Anyone got any experience with this kind of setup and improving sound

Correct voltages but no dial tone on TDM2400P
...ook the 'Total/Conf/Act goes' to 24/24/1. When I "cat /dev/zap/24"
with the phone off the hook, I get random data, and talking into the
phone or hitting keys changes this data, indicating the TMD's adc is
working.
PHONE CONNECTION:
The Tip is connected to Pin2 on the 50pin Centronics, ring is connected
to Pin27. Ring is 46V below Tip on hook and 6.7V below off hook.
Is this the right connection for channel 24?
Why is there no dial tone coming through?
ASTERISK:
On the Asterisk side, I can set up sip phones and trunks, but no matter
how hard I try, I have no luck with the ana...

Need to test serial port connection
I recently bought a new UPS, and I''m attempting to use nut to monitor it.
Following setup instructions everything seemed to go well until it came to
testing the connection, which failed.
There is just one serial connector on the computer, so I set it to
monitor /dev/ttyS0. Either that is wrong, or communication is failing.
I''ve been told to try minicom to monitor it,

Does 3MB/sec seem as fast as Samba is?
Hi All,
I've been experimenting with Samba 2.2.7a Debian 3.0
on a dual PIII 1000 SMP box, 1GB ram, and a fast RAID
5 array (150MB/sec write local). It seems that no
matter what options I set in smb.conf nor what
underlying filesystem I use (JFS, EXT3, XFS) I can
only get 3MB/sec MAX on writes out of samba from any
Windows client in my environment. Given that wire
speed for fast ethernet ought
