Writting 0s
Hello zfs-discuss, When compression is set to on for a givef file system, then if block contains only 0s "nothing" is writen. I wonder if it would be beneficial if ZFS behaves that way not only for block which are going to be compressed but for all block regardless of compression. Or perhaps making this simple check would too much impact CPU for normal data? ? --

ZFS Storage Pool advice
This question is concerning ZFS. We have a Sun Fire V890 attached to a EMC disk array. Here''s are plan to incorporate ZFS: On our EMC storage array we will create 3 LUNS. Now how would ZFS be used for the best performance? What I''m trying to ask is if you have 3 LUNS and you want to create a ZFS storage pool, would it be better to have a storage pool per LUN or combine the 3

Factors in lattice
Using one numeric and 2 factor variables densityplot( ~ Numeric | Factor1, ...) densityplot( ~ Numeric | Factor2, ...) .. both work, but densityplot( ~ Numeric | Factor1*Factor2, ...) produces the error Error in if (!(lo <- min(hi, IQR(x)/1.34))) (lo <- hi) || (lo <- abs(x[1])) || : missing value where logical needed None of the variables contain missing values. Problem with RW_MOUNT in a diskless system
...ld someone points me some direction or background on the snapshot idea? I've looked into /etc/rc.sysinit and saw the part to mount the stateless directory, but more information could be helpful. I'm trying to visualise relationships between a number of categorical variables with values 0 and 1. Plot(table(x,y)) ..works well for one relationship, so I want to use this to examine all relationships using pairs function. pairs(data_array, upper.panel=panel.tab) where panel.tab <- function (x,y) { plot(tables(x,y)) } ..produces the error..
