zpool history coredump
Pawel,
another one (though minor, I suppose) bug report: while playing with my poor
pool, I tried to interact with it on -current, thus importing it with -f

After reverting to RELENG_7, I found I no more can access history:

...of.
Up to now, nobody could explain me how a mixture of GPL and BSD can be legal as
this would require (when following the GPL) to relicense the BSD code under GPL
in order to make the whole be under GPL.
In other words, if you can legally combine BSD code with GPL code, you can do
with GPL and CDDL as well.

kernel panic caused by zfs/sa.c
...;m experiencing a kernel panic that appears to be caused by zfs.
No errors are making it into /var/log/messages, but here is the error
message that appears on my screen after panic (transcribed):
panic solaris assert BSWAP_32(sa_hdr_phys->sa_magic) == SA_MAGIC,
file: /src/sys/modules/zfs/../../cddl/contrib/opensolaris/uts/common/fs/zfs/sa.c, line 1262
I can reproduce this by running "cd /usr/ports/www/webkit-ghtk2; make
clean"
I looked at line 1262 in sa.c and it's part of a bit of code that checks
if byte swapping is necessary. The code starting at line 1260:

No, you can't. Section 6 of the GPL states that "You may not impose any

Moreover, the exclusion is mutual. Section 3.4 of the CDDL st...

ZFS and Linux
Hello,
I believe that ZFS and it''s concepts is truly revolutionary to the
point that I no longer see any OS as modern if it does not have
comparable storage functionality. Therefore I think that file
system/disk manager with similar qualities should be written for Linux.
Does Sun have plans to dual license ZFS as GPL so it can be ported to
native Linux?
If not, is it legal to write

Can anyone?recommend?an alternative to get similar information under
CentOS? I looked into dtrace for linux but it seems still work in
progress, even putting aside CDDL issues ...

access to errno when using pid provider
I would like to know how to get access to errno when using pid provider to probe calls to
libc functions like fopen(). The built-in errno appears to be only for system calls. What I''d
like to be able to do is investigate where in an application I''m encountering EMFILE and
what the stack looks like at the time.
