dialplan logic based on caller ID
Hello! Is there any easy way to use the caller ID "display info" (CALLERID(name) in Asterisk) in dialplan just as we could use the number in: exten => _X./67803287, 1, <action> I have a SIP GSM device, and when a call comes in, it passes me the caller ID like so: -- Sip message Header: From: "67803287" <sip:gsm@192.168.10.1>;tag=... -- Asterisk variables:

Asterisk as Voicemail Server for Option 61c?
Looks like we will be forced to make a move on our voicemail system as Nortel has declared Meridian Mail an end of life product. Frustrating thing is that it would seem their only reason for it is so they can force our hand to move to Call Pilot. Is there any documentation and feedback out there of how people have used Asterisk as a voicemail system for a legacy PBX? We've got about

extracting p-values from lmer outputs
I would like to write a function that runs GLMM using lmer on a user-input model containing interactions, but if the model doesn't produce significant results for the interaction, a reduced model will be run without the interaction. Doing this seems to require getting the p-values out of an lmer object, but I don't know how to do this. (The grand DF debate seems to be irrelevant since the

Help with voicemail
...tributed architecture so users are somewhat functional when the link to HQ is down, with a centralized voicemail server to allow for transfer of voicemail messages from user to user, on both the VoIP and legacy system (voicemail being on a dedicated * box). 1. Thanks to jporier who can be found at ccu.edu, I figured out how to deal with MWI for all the remote servers by mounting the voicemail directory via NFS from VMAIL1 onto the VOIPx servers which host the actual phones. Then sticking a msg00000.txt file into the directory makes the blinky light go on the phones. So far so good. What I'...

Multi-databases support
Hi, While I was hacking ovirt-server, I have found that it's currently restricted to Postgres DB. Even if I like postgres for serious work on a server, I really prefer to hack/dev locally on a Sqlite or MySQL DB. I have googled on rails in order to find a good answer for the "foreign key problem" which forces OVirt to stay on pg. I have found a plugin on this particular

Asterisk to Asterisk SIP Trunk and CallerID
I have two asterisk boxes (1.2.14) connected via SIP with Polycom 501s registered to each. I set callerid name and num before sending the call from one box to another but the phone registered to the receiving server only properly shows the caller name, not the number. The number on the phone always shows as the name of the sip registration of the "calling" server. Do I have to set a

...A108D with hardware echo cancellation with 2 PRIs to Level3 and 2 PRIs to a Nortel Option 61c and then several IAX trunks running into this box as well. Box is HP DL 385 G2. I've ruled out bad cables, bad port on sangoma and bad port at Level3 rack. When under load and while the problem is occurring zttest is never less than 99.987793 and is usually 100. Nothing showing up in any logs anywhere. Not sure it is related, but I'm noticing a very loud click when an incoming or outgoing call is initiated that I don't remember in the past. I'm stumped. Anyone ever experience this...
