permutation-based FDR

Dolors Giralt _________________________________________________________________ [[elided

books about MCMC to use MCMC R packages?
...ideas of the book, and notation and concepts are similar to the corresponding R packages that deal with MCMC methods. I have done a search and 2 books seem to satisfy my requirements: - Markov Chain Monte Carlo In Practice, by W.R. Gilks and others. - Monte Carlo Statistical methods, Robert and Casella. What do people think about these books? Is there a suggestion of some other book that could satisfy better my requirements? Thank you very much in advance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information contained herein is confidential and is...

Combinations and joint probabilities
Dear R helpers   Suppose I have two sets of ranges (interest rates) as   Range 1 : (7 – 7.50, 7.50 – 8.50, 8.50 – 10.00) with respective probabilities 0.42, 0.22 and 0.36.     Range II : (11-12, 12-14, 14-21) with respective probabilities 0.14, 0.56 and 0.30 respectively.     My problem is to form the combinations of these ranges in a decreasing order of joint probabilities. It is assumed that

Another newbie book recommandation question
I hope this question is sufficiently different from the other requests for book recommendations that it's not repetitious. If not, I apologize in advance. I'm curious what standard reference books working statisticians, or biostatisticians, have within easy reach of their desk. I'm a computer systems administrator, and have a two-foot bookshelf directory under my monitor that contains

Dear List, This problem is more a statistic one than a R one. Any one can recommend me some references website or online paper on maximum likelihood estimation?I'm now working on that, while still doubt how to prove that the estimated parameters are normal distributed. Thanks for your time and help! Best, Ning

And, if so, are there any chances to have dsync support gzip'ed folders in the (near) future?
