centos 5.3 with dkms-nvidia-x11-drv and gnome power manager sleep
Hi all,
On my ThinkPad T61, I am trying to get gnome power manager's sleep
function to work properly. When I bring my machine back up after sleep,
I end up with just a black screen and nothing responding.. no capslock
light when I hit capslock for example. I am running the latest nvidia
driver from rpmforge (I'm suspecting the nvidia driver isn't playing nice).

Odd output from X100P
I'm attempting to configure a machine with a DevKit Lite (X100P &
S100U). After I modprobe wcfxo, the machine goes into some kind
of loop after about 10 seconds, where it spits out what appears to
be 32-bit addresses, ad infinitum. At this point, the machine becomes
completely unresponsive to keyboard input (i.e. Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Alt-Del,
even CapsLock and NumLock states [lights] cannot be

event.keyCode broken in prototype?
I ran 2 tests. One using proto''s Event.observe, and another using an
in-line handler of the "keydown" event in a textbox.
Using .bindAsEventListener, the event.keyCode is always returning a
capital letter, no matter what. The in-line event handler returns
lowercase vs. uppercase correctly... What''s going on?
I guess I find it hard to believe no one has tried

Fujitsu Siemens PRIMERGY RX300
Hi all
Opensolaris works perfectly, but I am not able to boot the xvm kernel on this hardware.
I added the -k option in grub, but the system hangs before the hostname line without any debug info.
I''ve tried snv from b94 to b99, with the same results.
If I install Debian with xen kernel I am able to use pvm and hvm guests.
What can I do ?
thanks
Giacomo

Conversion smbpasswd 2.2.8 to 3.0.13
Dear All
I'm about migrating Samba 2.2.8 to 3.0.13 on Sparc, Solaris 8.
Compilation and Installation without any problem.
Runs fine with exception of 2.2.8-user validation in the domain (no
problems with validation of WXP- and W2K-Client Machines, newly set users
(./smbpasswd -a username) works perfectly ).
I simply have copied smbpasswd 2.2.8 to the diferent directory of Samba 3.0.13.

SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
I''ve got my site posting comments with ajax, but I can''t seem to handle
the callback correctly.
Do I just put what I want returned in the "comments.rhtml" file? I''ve
been trying to do this, but am having no luck.
If I have the parameters for the comments, I should be able to single
them out, but I''m not sure how to do it. This is what I mean:

Having stability problems with Linux-2.6.34.7-0.5-xen
Hello,
I am using Xen 4.0.0_21091_06-0.1 on OpenSuse 11.3 64 bit, with a
Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit guest, and my workstation keeping locking up,
even the NumLock and CapsLock keys being unresponsive when it does.
Where should I begin troubleshooting?
Thanks,
Todd

[Bug 82714] [G84] nouveau fails to properly initialize GPU
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82714
--- Comment #21 from Pierre Moreau <pierre.morrow at free.fr> ---
I tested with latest Nouveau and latest drm-next as of yesterday (4.6-rcX),
with the G84 alongside a GM206; the GM206 was the one driving the screen.
Launching weston or kmscon works, but starting X makes the whole computer
freeze (no responce on key presses, power button

Bug report
as everyone deserves to know when things go wrong:
i'm trying to flash the bios on my IBM T20 laptop. i've got a floppy image, and am attempting to use memdisk with grub to boot it via the following:
title Flash T20 Bios
root (hd0,0)
kernel /memdisk root=/dev/md0
initrd /T20_flash_floppy.img
that much WORKS.
the interesting part is that the system becomes unresponsive RIGHT AFTER

system lockup when hammering ext3 partition
This might be a bad HD but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Running RedHat 8 system; kernel 2.4.18-14. Was having some
weird problems on boot so I did:
% find / -type f -fstype ext3 | perl -n -e 'print `md5sum $_`;'
to torture the disk. It's a 20G Maxtor disk with about 12G free.
The system locks up hard (no ping, no capslock light) after a while.
Different place every time.

smbclient and encrypted passwords
I have an NT Network and as one of the first steps in eliminating NT from
my shop I need to be able to mount some of my NT shares on my Linux boxes.
When I execute:
smbmount //NTXX/ShareName /NTShare
it asks me for a password. I enter the correct password (yes I've checked
my capslock key and made sure I typed it correctly) but I get the following
error.

ISA connected CF card not found by CentOS 6
I am attempting to install CentOS 6 on a PC104 stack and am experiencing issues with anaconda not being able to find the Compact Flash (CF) card hosted in an IDE-CF board connected via the ISA bus. Did someone finally remove the ISA capability from the kernel?
On the same hardware I have been able to install CentOS 5.
With the CentOS 6 install DVD, the system boots up and proceeds until it

CentOS4 on Dell Inspiron 9300
I just purchased a Dell Inpiron 9300 from the Dell Outlet store.
Installing CentOS4 went very, very smoothly until I tried configuring
X. The 17" screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio with a 1920x1200
resolution. The best I could manage using system-config-display was
1600x1200. So, after a bit of research, I hand editted the xorg.conf
file (reproduced below) and it now works great. Maybe

EXTLinux freezing up
I just now finally got around to redoing my grandmother's harddrive --
moving everything from a NTFS partition to FAT32 so I could set up
rescue discs, be able to make repairs, and other such things that
would then be able to safely write data to her primary partition. My
resulting setup was a three partition drive with the first partition
being a ~256MB EXT2 partition for boot files, the
