Non-default Domain group RID and NAS problem....
...ast forward 6 months and we have a commercial NAS (EMC) in the domain. It has worked fine for basic home directories, but as we expand the number of shared group directories we have started to see flakiness of CIFS group privileges/access, and the NAS' logs show a set of errors like: Secmap: Cannnot resolve sid S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-202 LGDB: Cannot get info for S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-202 Secmap: Cannnot resolve sid S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-201 LGDB: Cannot get info for S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-201 Then we see a series of not-very-informative/verbose "permission denied" errors in the EMC lo...

Issue with timeout option?
...worked just fine. But I was doing a test, and booted the systems, and usually pick the default kerenel or one of the other kernels on the CD before it times out with 60 seconds. But this time, I didn't do that. It loaded the default kernel with no problem, but then gives the following: VFS: Cannnot open root device "<NULL>" or unknown-block(253,0) Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions: Then it shows the hard disk and cd drive options. Kernel panic - not syncing: VGS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown- block(253,0). If I se...

Problem passing data into read.table()
...ince the number of fields is different from that of the data. I know this could easily be done with some Perl pre-processing of the file, but it is going to run on a Windows machine and I am trying to minimize the number of packages to download. Nevertheless, there is the general problem of why I cannnot pass a calculated value into the function. Code follows. # # function to read data with header and footer # # pick line 8 with the data layout information and calculate the number of rows ... grid.layout <- read.table(fname, as.is=T, header=F, sep="\t", comment.char="", s...

Macro's and Var Scope's
...to an end point, e.g. you get ringing or announcements being recorded. It seems to me that these are bugs with the Dial() command: 1) Using M(x) in a dial command does not allow argument to be passed. Using something like "Dial(${ARG2},10,tTM(record-start,1111))" means that the macro cannnot be found. 2) Variables are not passed from one context into another when using the M(x) command. For example the variable CALLFILENAME set in stdexten cannot be seen by record-start but can be seen if I use the Macro() command rather than Dial() with the M(x) switch. If anyone can offer any...

Naming Conventions
Hi all, I have looked but cannot find if there is a way on a file share to control the naming convention of files. I’d like if possible for a SAMBA file share to throw up an error if an end user tries to name any of their Word / Excel based files (or any files for that matter) with any of the following: Tilde Number sign Percent Ampersand Asterisk Braces Backslash Colon Angle brackets

cannot use DVFS in xen 3.4, suggested way of adding cpufreq=dom0-kernel has been tried
Hello, I want to use DVFS in xen. I use Fedora 8. The server supports DVFS when it boots from Fedora 8 without xen. Then, I installed Xen 3.4 from source and boots successfully. But the cpufreq directory is gone in the system. I cannnot use DVFS. If I run xenpm get-cpufreq-xxx, it always reports "failed to get xxx". I have googled a lot, but still cannot find the solution. The CPU is Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz. I also tried to add cpufreq=xen or cpufreq=dom0-kernel, but neither of them works. Could anybody...

fatal error unused tempdir
I am running R on an XP machine. Lately I have been unable to start R in any mode without getting the 'Fatal Error: cannnot find unused tempdir name' message. After reading previous postings I went in and deleted all my Rtmp* directories in /documents and settings/USER/local/tmp which didn't help, I also uninstalled and reinstalled R to no avail. Running on a second machine I noticed that the last Rtmp* direc...

[Bug 568] Kerberos password auth/expiry kbdint patch
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=568 ------- Additional Comments From michael.houle at atcoitek.com 2004-04-06 06:04 ------- Can someone please enlighten me on whether this kind of code is going to be included in the main development ? I thought this would be handled automatically by the krb5 libraries, so I was suprised to find that password changing doesn't work in the SSH

require_membership_of is ignored
I have a RHEL 6.3 machine successfully bound to AD using winbind, and commands like wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g output the users and groups. I can also log in as any AD user. The problem is, I can log on as any AD user. require_membership_of is being ignored. I can put in a valid group with no spaces in the name, a group by SID, and either way, everyone can log in. I've put this option in both
