ror/lighttpd - HTML files via port 80 become application/octet-stream?
...ck with a strange phenomenon. If I configure lighttpd to serve pages on say port 2000, I can get at my testapp fine and see the "Welcome aboard" page. However, if I configure lighttpd to use port 80, I get a download prompt from my browser. If I access my URI like "http://ruby.cajones.org", I get: ''You have chosen to open which is a: application/octet-stream from http://ruby.cajones.org What should Firefix do with this file?'' If I access the URI as "http://ruby.cajones.org/index.html", I get: ''You have chosen to open index.html wh...

Trouble getting in icecast Directory
Yes, it is a "vague term" but it should match nonetheless. Is the directory code open source? If so, I don't mind locating the error and proposing a correction. First step is to have other people confirm that they get the same results that I do. On 8/7/2011 4:34 PM, Karl Heyes wrote: > On 07/08/11 04:56, Raymond Lutz wrote: >> Okay, it is working now. a shoutcast server. Various posts say that you must start with shoutcast server and use icecast as the relay. (I don't want to do this because we already have a perl script written to work with ices and I don't want to have to redo it to work with shoutcast. It looks feasible but will still be quite a bit of work because there is no state saved between calls from shoutcast. In ices,

Can't ./configure ices or ezstream
Hi I've been trying to './configure' for ices and ezstream but both die. In the case of ices, it get this far: checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check but /lib/cpp seems to work fine. for example: [root at vps ices-0.4]# /lib/cpp --help Usage: cpp [options] file... Multiple mount points without dynamic reencoding
Hello: I am running the icecast2.3.2 server and ices0.4 with a perl script which provides the filename of the next track to play. I am reencoding in advance using ffmpeg, which has been very reliable. My main stream is mp3, 64kbps / 44.1 kHz (mono) and I have pre-reencoded the tracks to 32kbps / 22.05 kHz (mono), for a lower data rate stream. At this time, I have not figured out how to get a

Winamp streaming to icecast2
Hello, I'm trying to set up winamp to stream a live event to an icecast2 server. I've got the icecast2 server set up, and to date have streamed playlists only via ices0 or ices2, now I'm wanting to stream live using winamp. Software wise, I'm needing to use free or open source software, the icecast2 server is a Linux machine, the Winamp will be on either a Win7 or a WinXP

Orphan threads with Cellphone (Blackberry) player
Friends: The icecast server is very robust, but has some goofiness with regard to use with cell-phone players. Has anyone else encountered these issues? When I use a Blackberry to access the icecast stream, I get orphan and duplicate client threads. Max Icecast Listeners
I am curious if anyone has had enough experience to know --> how many simultaneous listeners can be supported by typical server boxes, assuming unlimited bandwidth is available? My specific case: My server (http://www.AirProgressive.org) is on a Linux VPS server located in a datacenter and on a optical backbone so that bandwidth is not the problem. Each connection I am running is at 32kbps

Shoutcast directory listing?
I don't see that Nullsoft can do anything about it if Icecast was modified to update the SC directory exactly emulating SC Server. We would then utilize Icecast server for all our hosting, which is much more flexible. But our customers cannot do without being listed on the popular SC directory. Currently we have about 98% SC servers and 2% Icecast. -----Original Message----- From:

\\Pettit Connect As: Password: On the server side, I didn't get far because the domain name come up NULL so it failed on that test. Below are two logs log98.txt and log2000.txt that show full debug info. I might just have a stupid configuration or installation mistakes. I am sure that my basic configuration must work since it is a very typical setup. Any help will be highly appreciated
