ror/lighttpd - HTML files via port 80 become application/octet-stream?
...ck with a strange phenomenon.
If I configure lighttpd to serve pages on say port 2000, I can get at my
testapp fine and see the "Welcome aboard" page.
However, if I configure lighttpd to use port 80, I get a download prompt
from my browser.
If I access my URI like "http://ruby.cajones.org", I get:
''You have chosen to open which is a: application/octet-stream from
http://ruby.cajones.org What should Firefix do with this file?''
If I access the URI as "http://ruby.cajones.org/index.html", I get:
''You have chosen to open index.html...

that relaying the listening stream is not the right way to go. Is there
some reason it is not feasible to relay the same stream that would be
sent to a listener?

Can't ./configure ices or ezstream
Hi
I've been trying to './configure' for ices and ezstream but both die.
In the case of ices, it get this far:
checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
but /lib/cpp seems to work fine.
for example:
[root at vps ices-0.4]# /lib/cpp --help

Icecast2 client
Hi,
i have succesfully installed icecast2 server on linux and now i am looking for a client which can be embeded into html code to play ogg audio stream directly from html page.
I have tried to embed WMP and it does work well, but WMP cannot seek the stream.

Winamp streaming to icecast2
Hello,
I'm trying to set up winamp to stream a live event to an icecast2
server. I've got the icecast2 server set up, and to date have streamed
playlists only via ices0 or ices2, now I'm wanting to stream live
using winamp.
Software wise, I'm needing to use free or open source software, the
icecast2 server is a Linux machine, the Winamp will be on either a
Win7 or a WinXP

Max Icecast Listeners
...ide any warnings when it finds it is unable to keep
up with the workload? What sort of failure mode will occur? Gaps in the
transmission, dropped listeners, ?

Shoutcast directory listing?
I don't see that Nullsoft can do anything about it if Icecast was modified
to update the SC directory exactly emulating SC Server. We would then
utilize Icecast server for all our hosting, which is much more flexible.
But our customers cannot do without being listed on the popular SC
directory. Currently we have about 98% SC servers and 2% Icecast.
