Changing ring cadence on FXS lines
Is there a way I can change the ring cadence on FXS lines on a system using a Digium Wildcard TDM2400 card? I recently deployed a new phone system, and the customer has a few POTS phones in areas where they don't have data network services, so we're using the FXS lines to provide dialtone at those outbuildings. The old phone system...

help with oop in R - class structure and syntex
...op syntex of Java and VB, I am wondering if the R programmig experts could help me out by comparing and contrasting the oop syntex in R with that of Java. For example, the basic class structure in Java is like this: public class Bicycle { // *the Bicycle class has three fields* public int cadence; public int gear; public int speed; // *the Bicycle class has one constructor* public Bicycle(int startCadence, int startSpeed, int startGear) { gear = startGear; cadence = startCadence; speed = startSpeed; } // *the Bicycle class has four methods*...

Hi all. So.. as the problem with the video driver and CentOS 5 seems to be hard to solve, I'll try to migrate to CentOS 6. Thank you very much! Robi

Distinctive Ring Cadences
Hello All, I am looking for a way to do priority call ringing. That is when a caller places a call to another party, they can indicate that the call is a priority and get a different ring to occur (ring cadence) on the called parties phone. This would be synonymous to an intercom ring on a key system. After some investigation, I have come across the ability of the GS BT101 which will ring differently based on the CID. But, this doesn't allow the caller to control the ring. I have uncovered some p...

This devices must wait 2 rings to detect the cadence then * is gonna wait 2 rings trying to get CallerID which I think it will NEVER get since that comes fr...

cadences zapata.conf
I edited zapata.conf to use custom ring cadences. Seemed to work, but upon some restarts, seems zapata.conf is not being read properly on startup as zap show cadences will show the defaults. Some restarts show the custom cadences. What's up with that? joe a.

ROUTING INCOMING CALL BASED ON CADENCE?
I have two x100p cards and a TDM20b set up such that the home phone is one exten, the home office is another, on one of the incoming lines (the same copper line that has the main home phone number) There is a distinctive ringing number set up as well. Here's the crazy part. any calls coming in on that line I want to ring both extensions. But I want the distinctive ringing to pass through only

IAX2 ring cadence / time
Is the a way for IAX2 adapter to detect when the calling party hangs up the phone? I have two IAX2 adapter, one is Digium IAXY when I call the IAXY extension and hang up the phone the IAXY adapter rings about two or three times after the calling party hangs up the phone. Distinctive ring confusion
I am somewhat unsure as to the definition of "Distinctive Ring". What I am trying to achieve is to have Zap connected phones (TDM400P) ring with different cadences depending on whether the call is incoming on the PSTN context or an IAX2 context. Googling, I find this from Mark: I've added distinctive ring support to Asterisk now (also I've added answer confirmation which is an essoterric feature that nobody but oliver will likely ever use). Now...

Distinctive ring detection not detecting ring cadences
I'm using Asterisk 1.4.5 (will try 1.4.6 on Thursday, but I don't see anything in the changelog after the 1.4.5 release dealing with distinctive ring), zaptel 1.4.3, and wanpipe 2.3.4-10 with a Sangoma A200 card. I enabled usedistinctiveringdetection in zapata.conf. However, on the Asterisk console, the output I get is: -- Detected ring pattern: 0,0,0 It would appear that Asterisk is

Distinctive Ring detection and caller ID
I have a line from BT (UK) connected to my asterisk system, on a TDM400P. I am able to see either distinctive ring cadences or caller ID but not both. If I try to enable both, all drings show up as 0,0,0. This is a pain because, if I make a call out over that line and the number I call is busy, I can elect to camp on it (ringback), which results in a different cadence of ring when the called number clears. At the mo...

some questions about busy detection
...ones it uses if the information is not in the PBX manual? Back when I used to use Dialogic cards, there was a program called PBXpert (or something like that) which would measure all the PBX's tones. But I think all I need is to record a tone and get a program that would tell me what tones/cadence are in the sample. Cadence I could probably figure out from any graphical sound editor, tones too if it's single-frequency, but what if it's dual-frequency? Is there a sound editor (free, or at least with an evaluation version that has this feature) that would do this for me? thanks
