Unsubscribing
OK, this is going to seem sad, but I can not get unsubscribed from wine-users. Sent 3 messages to Majordomo@winehq.com with unsubscribe wine-users in the body, and get back "**** unsubscribe: 'cacook@freedom.net' is not a member of list 'wine-users'." And sending a request to wine-users-approval@winehq.com nets me "unknown local-part "wine-users-approval" in domain "winehq.com"" But I keep getting list mail to that address. Please turn it off....

Various Questions

Why would this make a truer raid0 that with no options? Is it necessary to use fdisk on new drives in creating a BTRFS multi-drive array? Or is this all that''s needed: #

Kernel Modules
Just compiled a custom kernel, but unable to mount a btrfs partition. It essentially says ''unrecognized filesystem''. What could be missing? # File systems # CONFIG_EXT2_FS=y CONFIG_EXT2_FS_XATTR=y CONFIG_EXT2_FS_POSIX_ACL=y CONFIG_EXT2_FS_SECURITY=y # CONFIG_EXT2_FS_XIP is not set CONFIG_EXT3_FS=y CONFIG_EXT3_DEFAULTS_TO_ORDERED=y CONFIG_EXT3_FS_XATTR=y

Multiple Wifi Profiles
This may not necessarily be the best place to ask this, but I''ve tried the Admin Guide, LinuxQuestions and Debian forums and no one knows. Running Debian Testing, and I need to set up two profiles for my wifi adapter, one for home and one for any open AP. I''m using the manual method of configuring, editing the /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and /etc/network/interfaces

Multi-Threading?
I have a backup server now restoring 6TB of data to a client machine. This has been going on for four days now, and no sign of getting close to completion. The connexion is Gb enet end-to-end, and is running at only 40Mb/s. It has far more capacity than that. The only limiting factor I can see is on the backup server one core of the CPU is running 100% rsync. Clearly rsync is not

No implementation for shlwapi.dll
Tried every permutation of shell, shell32 & shlwapi. It is clear that shell & shell32 must come from a common source, but nevertheless always got the same error message, with one exception: When I loaded all 3 builtin, it complained instead that shfolder has a problem. Running RedHat 7.1|Helix|Nautilus, with Win98r1 .dlls. -- C. The best way out is always through. - Robert Frost

psad Error
Just installed psad and am testing it. This morning I awoke to an email saying: [-] You may just need to add a default logging rule to the /sbin/ip6tables ''filter'' ''INPUT'' chain on hydra. For more information, see the file "FW_HELP" in the psad sources directory or visit: http://www.cipherdyne.org/psad/docs/fwconfig.html Well I have

[q]: fixme:pthread_kill_other_threads_np
I just compiled and installed wine on my glibc2.1.3 system. Wine doesn't run anything and I get the error below. Searching the net/FAQ/HOWTO revealed only that a very recent glibc2.2 system is needed. Is this true? Thanks. Error: > wine sol.exe Building font metrics. ...Wine sources' root directory: $ cd ./program/progman $ make $ make install then you can execute /usr/local/bin/progman It is still a little buggy around the edges but it seems to work. 5) & 6) Can't help you about this one... Hope this helps. Yves. -----Message d'origine----- De: cacook@freedom.net 1) CWp3 winedbg symlink is broken. How to fix? 2) I am hearing that in order to deinstall a Windows program, you must compile a certain proggie from the sources. It doesn't seem to come with CWWine. Best avenue? 3) I chose Desktop mode, as I need two apps running simultaneousl...

DDoS
I know someone who for the past 4 days has been having the heck ddosed out of him. He runs a gaming server, and ran a report on the ddos; he has 8 pages of that and a few hours ago there were 16 pages. They''re attacking his machine on random ports and he blocks UDP traffic on those ports, but they keep attacking on other ports. So far he''s banned over 800,000 IP''s.

Creating/Protecting a Subnet
I have an admin machine, and a backup server which does backups. The backup server has IPMI so I can do lights-out admin, and I want to allow this from the admin machine only. IPMI is completely unfirewalled, and so it must have a different class C than working networks.... this is just how it is. I''ve set the IPMI IP on the backup server to 192.168.10.4, and created a virtual
