Dell PERC H800 commandline RAID monitoring tools
...ell monitoring) suite. Our current alerting is happening through SNMP, though it's a bit hit or miss (we apparently missed a couple of earlier predictive failure alerts on one drive). OMSA conflicts with mega-cli, though we may find that the latter is the more useful package. Both are pretty byzantine, the Dell stuff simply doesn't have docs (in particular: docs on how to interpret the omconfig log output). Ideally we'd like something which could be run as a Nagios plugin or cron job providing information on RAID status and/or possible disk errors. Probably both, actually. Thanks in...

Nondestructive testing environment on legacy db
...ucumber. What I can''t seem to figure out is how to run tests without destroying and rebuilding the database. I''m well aware that that''s the ''best practice'' way of doing it... but I''m dealing with a massive, >6GB beast with hundreds of tables, byzantine constraints, and a rat''s nest of spaghetti code in the form of triggers and stored procs. Seriously, I have nightmares about this database as well. But, I''ve been slogging away at it, and created a web app that''s impressed the bosses, and the vendor for that matter. Bu...

List dimention labels to plots of components
It is frustrating to see the labels I want in the dimensions of a list but not be able to extract those labels into titles for plots generated from component objects. If someone could set me straight, I would appreciate it. For your amusement, I have provided an example of the Byzantine code I am currently using to avoid loops: # Simulate ANOVA type test data sex<-c(rep(1,8),rep(0,8)) dose<-c(rep(1,4),rep(0,4)) treatment<-c(rep(1,2),rep(0,2)) fix<-sex+dose+treatment Response<-fix+rnorm(16) Sex<-rep("Male",16) Sex[sex==0]<-"Female" Dose&lt...

two 2-node clusters or one 4-node cluster?
Hello, I'm planning migration of current two clusters based on CentOS 6.x with Cman/Rgmanager going to CentOS 7.x and Corosync/Pacemaker. As the clusters and their services are on the same subnet, and there no particular security concerns differentiating them, I'm also evaluating the option to transform the two clusters into a unique 4-node one during the upgrade. Currently I'm

Xiph and Sourceforge downloads sections
How about using Sourceforge only for the most recent version? It would prevent any possible confusion (or the hassle with SF?s byzantine file interface) and if people are looking for older versions they could always go to http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/flac/. release 2.4.7pre4 - Thanks!
...consistent and complete messages at the different levels of verbose are great. The "why is a path included or excluded" messages at -vv should cut the traffic on this list by about 25% (I wish I'd had them a couple of weeks ago). I've been testing it all morning with a somewhat Byzantine set of perl generated options and so far no problems. (And it may be my imagination, but it even seems faster). Thanks again, Dave Madole

Suitability of R for Algorithm simulations
Greetings, Sorry for the basic question, but I am trying to find out if R is a suitable platform for what I want to do... I am interested in creating simulations of distributed algorithms (i.e. team formation, Byzantine Generals , P2P communication modeling, mobile networks) that would be represented in GUIs. I would like to be able to instantiate an object for each node in my simulated (stand alone, one computer) "distributed" environment and then proceed by (a) adding message exchange functionality...

...11.14.2 (FreePBX) snom870-SIP 8.7.3.25.5 I am having a very difficult time attempting to get TLS and SRTP working with Asterisk and anything else. At the moment I am trying to get TLS functioning with our Snom870 desk-sets. And I am not having much luck. Since this is an extraordinarily (to me) Byzantine environemnt I am going to ask if any of you have gotten this set-up (Asterisk11 with Snom870s using TLS) to work and if so could you provide the details? I have this in Asterisk sip.conf (loaded through FreePBXs sip_general_additional.conf). tcpenable=yes tlsenable=yes tlscertfile=/etc/pki/aster...

Samba 3.0 + AD + OpenLDAP
Hi everyone! I've already deployed samba-2.2.7a-2 and enabled openLDAP support. I now have a machine configured as a domain controller authenticating all windows users via openLDAP. openLDAP is also authenticating all of our linux users. I would like to install Exchange2000 on a windows2000 machine so our windows users can do calendaring (sendmail already handles all of our email needs).

editing bind (DNS) configuration under CentOS 6
Hello listmates, It appears that system-config-bind has been phased out. Whatever the reasoning was behind that decision - what are we expected to do now? Edit it manually? That is doable, of course, but kind of cumbersome. Does anybody know if there is a tool we are expected to use for that purpose? Thanks. Boris.

Enterprise Software is all about wizards
Would any one else say that enterprise systems (+150 tables) are mainly consisted of wizards. The flow in the software from screen to screen is looselt based on how the business flows, and is required to be very structured. From screen to screen the options available to the user are very limited. There is not much freedom and the user is not overwhelmed with options. Complex applications
