2 questions: Linux filesystems that truly compare to NTFS / winbind causes Linux to lockup when connectivity to AD is lost
Hello samba gurus, I have a couple of questions regarding Linux file systems, and their ability to mimic NTFS, and the other question is regarding winbind and its uncanny ability to virtually lock up a samba AD member server once connectivity to the AD is lost. I apologize if anyone gets annoyed by this question. Environment: I am using samba 3.2 with XFS+ACL support joined as a AD domain member

pretty not covering the range properly (PR#673)
...nd the 2.8 of the returned vector from pretty is slightly larger. This seems to be due to the conversion to base 10 with the ns and unit variables in src/appl/pretty.c. Anyway if I do something like: hist(c(2.8,3)) it fails as well because it uses pretty. Quick question. Thunderbird/Outlook = no love.
Are there any how-tos or documentation on getting dovecot to be thunderbird/outlook friendly? Thunderbird can connect about 20% of the time, the other 80% of the time, I Get the error: "You may need to connect via SSL or TLS. Please check the account settings for your mail server." I have my thunderbird setup to do TLS. I've put it on the TLS if available as well, still no love.

DOS Shortcuts in NT
...cant find the shortcut.(!) I'm guessing it has something to do with the way that MS deals with the long file names. Has anyone else run accross the problem and did you find a solution?
