Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Broadvoice BYOD Plans - 3-way and Call Waiting
Can anyone who is using Asterisk with Broadvoice tell of their experiences
with 3-way calling and call waiting? I can't get Broadvoice to respond to
my question, but I understand that there is a per minute fee (3.9
c/minute?) if you go over your use allowances....

How can I use my regular phones with Asterisk running on my Linksys WRT54G router?
Ok, I've done some more research and I don't think I want an FXO box...
What I'd like to do is use BroadVoice (with their BYOD plan) and then
run Asterisk on my WRT54G router. I'd also like to use my regular home
phones without having to use a special "SIP" phone... (eg. I like my
Vtech normal cordless phones)
What do I need to buy to get this working? It sounds like I need to
purchase a "Zaptel" i...

Unable to send fax using BroadVoice
Has anyone had success sending faxes via a broadvoice byod account?
Everything 'looks' to go as expected, but then my fax hangs up and I get a
printout with Error 351. I am wondering if it is a codec issue or something.
Any help will be great.

Interface * with ATA from ATA FXS port?
Me again... I have service with a company that does not allow for a BYOD
plan. They will not give out credential or server info either. Is it
possible to run the FXS port of the ATA to an FXO port in *?
The service I have is throug Broadvox Direct using the Mediatrix 2102. I
have tried this using loop start and kewl start. The * box sees the
incoming ring, picks up an...

SIP Options
...es a professional voice system.
My idea is to use Asterisk with a SIP provider and SIP clients. I
currently have a Vonage account already. So adding the 9.99 a month
Soft Phone would be easy. However, there seems to be contriversy on
weather or not this is a stable solution.
The BroadVoice BYOD 100 Minute package will probably work well too since
almost all calls will be incoming.
Otherwise I am not too sure what else sounds good.
If I could get opionions and suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

...the whole samba service on the DC my FR box was authenticating against (systemctl restart sernet-samba-ad) and my test laptop is now connected to the network on the correct VLAN.
I apologise for wasting everyone's time - now I'll get back to cleaning up all the config files and making sure BYOD still works etc.
Thank you,

Another State Of The Punctuation Mark question - Vonage
...oductive ever come of it?
Are *you* using your Vonage lines directly into Asterisk?
In lieu of that, for a 4 line small business that doesn't need to pay
Vonage $150 a month, who? Broadvoice? Someone else?
I'm a touch unimpressed with the fact that BV's website *won't quote
you BYOD pricing* until you actually place the damn order -- or so it
appears to my eyes.

VoIP service through Asterisk?
...a X100P card on the way. I've not decided what analog adapter(s) to get
yet. The only phone service to hook up is currently POTS.
I'm interested in integrating a VoIP provider into the system (using it
as a service for inbound and outbound calls). I understand that I can
use Broadvoice (BYOD plan), however I'm also considering other
providers.
Other than Broadvoice, are there any VoIP providers (Vonage, Packet8,
etc) that can be hooked into Asterisk directly? I read about a scheme
for Packet8 that involved routing it in through an analog connection on
a FXO port...I'd rath...

broadvoice replacement
Does anyone know of a BYOD provider that terminates calls to NCFA
numbers (UK 'national rate'). I enjoyed broadvoices unlimited to those
numbers, but this is getting silly now, it doesnt work and no answer if
after switching to a new provider it will ever work.
Can anyone suggest an alternative provider that serv...

broadvoice connection problem
All,
I signed up for a broadvoice BYOD plan over the weekend (very
excited about their offering) and after about an hour I had asterisk
registered and was making in and out bound calls. However, the next day
(without changing anything) I couldn't call in or out and haven't been able
to get it going again. I can connect using a...

Recommend against Teliax as primary ITSP
...forthright in
explaining their problems, and notify their customer base within a
reasonable time when they are going to have outages due to network changes.
As it stands, I now have to find a new provider that will at least duplicate
the features of Teliax.
The hardest part of this is, they offer BYOD, use IAX2, and let you change
your callerid presentation. These are all things that I MUST have. If
anyone has some positive results with a similar competitor, I'd love to hear
about it.
In the meantime, I have to change back over to PSTN lines temporarily, since
I can't rely on service...

Broadvoice problems again
I had my asterisk configuration working very well with broadvoice, but
it stopped working this afternoon.
I plugged the Cisco 7960 phone I used for my origional signup (just a
few days before they offered generic BYOD) and it works fine. I did
notice it seems to do all of its comunication through
proxy.broadvoice.com (I used tcpdump). I have never contacted
broadvoice about using asterisk (it seems their support is busy enough),
and just downloaded the phones configuration file via tftp before the
phone d...

Yes, I found that here:

BroadVoice outgoing works - now tackle caller ID
Hi,
I got a broadvoice "business" account under the byod(bring your own
device) program. I have applied the patches and created new asterisk
debian packages. I have the account working on inbound and outbound. The
problem area is outbound caller ID. I have 3 other accounts with IAX2
providers and have no problem setting the caller ID on outbound call...

*@Home: SIP for testing?
Hi. As recommended by this list, I am setting up Asterisk@Home in
order to start learning what I need to learn in order to start
learning how to learn how to learn Asterisk, VOIP, telephony, etc..
Or something like that. :)
I am following the wonderful instructions on:
http://chayden.net/Asterisk/SeUpAsteriskAtHome.htm
From that page, it looks like I can just get away with a $5.95/month

Question about VoIP providers
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know of any Canadian VoIP providers that offer all of the
following:
1. DIDs in Canada, U.S., and Europe
2. BYOD (i.e. connect to Asterisk directly)
3. Setting of CallerID for outgoing calls
4. Multiple concurrent calls per account (or some other method to
accommodate many concurrent outgoing calls)
I've checked out the Wiki and there doesn't appear to be any Canadian
providers that currently offer t...
