Memory "leak" in readChar (PR#1483)
Full_Name: Hugh C. Pumphrey
Version: 1.4.1
OS: Linux (Debian Woody)
Submission from: (NULL) (129.215.133.170)
The function readChar() appears to have some type of problem with memory
allocation.
I don't know if "memory leak" is the correct term but if one uses readChar()
many
times, the R binary grows in size until it eats all your memory and swap space.

IAX.conf problem (NEWBIE ALERT!)
...xt=context3
So if the first incoming number 0700681001 arrives pointing at context1
it works, when incoming number 0700681002 arrives it seems to still use
the entry for 0700681001 and therefore goes to the wrong context in
extensions.conf and then of course can't find the numbers entry. If I
bung all the numbers in the same context in extensions.conf it works
fine but still only follows the one entry out of IAX.conf.
What am I missing? How should I set up IAX.conf to receive multiple
numbers via IAX from the same provider?
I want to cover the following scenarios.
Multiple numbers under...

Best use of 4 drives?
I''m putting together a NexentaOS (b65)-based server that has 4 500 GB drives on it. Currently it has two, set up as a ZFS mirror. I''m able to boot Nexenta from it, and it seems to work ok. But, as I''ve learned, the mirror is not properly redundant, and so I can''t just have a drive fail (when I pull one, the OS ends up hanging, and even if I replace it, I have to

for those of you who want a patent...
Alvaro Munoz (Hopkins Epi) is patenting the "diamond graph".
http://www.jhsph.edu/Press_Room/Press_Releases/Munoz_diamond_graph.html
There is enough prior art (hexagonal binning, among others) to make
this amusing, except that it probably will get a patent. It's a reasonable
graphical technique, but patentable?
best,

TDM400P card & PCI problems
I've just replaced a X101P card with a brand new TDM400P card
(specifically TDM421B).
I do have the molex plug attached.
kudzu removed the config for the X101P OK, but didn't find the TDM400P
lspci does not show the card
?? Bung card ?? How susceptible are these cards to XRays, as it has
been thru AU customs and might have been thru the scanner.

german umlaut and samba 3
hi all,
we want to use samba to connect a windows machine and a linux server, the
linux machine should read the windows-filesystem to backup it. in samba 2.xx
we wasn't able to teach samba the german umlauts or filenames containing a
blank. we tried the character substitution in smb.conf and of course we
called smbmount with iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=cp850, but unforunatly it

I have not - do not wrk with linux - however,
I have seen similar behaviour working with Mac (OS9 and OSX)
This usually has been the result of illegal character(s) in the file or folder name, or illegal placement of legal characters. Either on the server, or on the source/destination machine.

Dedicated server running ESXi with no RAID card, ZFS for storage?
Morning all...
I have a Dedicated server in a data center in Germany, and it has 2 3TB
drives, but only software RAID. I have got them to install VMWare ESXi and
so far everything is going ok... I have the 2 drives as standard data
stores...
But i am paranoid... So, i installed Nexenta as a VM, gave it a small disk
to boot off and 2 1Tb disks on separate physical drives... I have created a

Hangupcause is not enough on PRI
Hi,
I'm using Asterisk and a TE110P E1 PRI in Chile.
When I call to a disconnected number or any not operational number, the
telco sends the Hangupcause disconnection code and an audio message
notifying the disconnection cause to the user.
Asterisk does not allow the user to hear the audio message form the telco,
instead it cuts the call. Any other legacies PRI PBX I've tested allow

I want to put up nine x11 plot windows at different places on the display,

Test builds for CYGWIN and IRIX?
I'm starting to prepare the next release. Since 0.8.3 I've made a
number of changes to get working builds working on HPUX and OSF, and
made some of the Windows specific bits more robust. I'd like to check
that these haven't broken CYGWIN or IRIX builds, but I don't have
access to these platforms. If you are able to test, it'd be most
appreciated if you could. Download a
