FreeBSD 9 and PERC H200
I got a Dell T110-II server on 2013-July-19. It has two 1Tbyte drives that the PERC H200 controls, RAID 1. I tried to install FreeBSD-9.1-RELEASE from a DVD from FreebsdMall. The autopart segfaulted, evidently because it could not find any disks. I think there is a PR about the segfaulting (bad bug, no messages). I worked around the problem by going to the loader prompt when the initial

status of Solaris build
Howdy, Well, I finally made it through a complete build of OpenSSH on Solaris 7/x86. I've included a few notes below. Most of them are either simple enough or too complex (i.e. I'm not sure how to do it without breaking other platforms) to generate patches for here. 1) _PATH_DEVNULL, _PATH_UTMP and _PATH_WTMP aren't defined anywhere, since Solaris doesn't appear

Creating custom iso with extra packages and scripts
I have been able to use the "make release" command to create a custom iso for FreeBSD which includes some changes to the various bsdinstall scripts. It all works well as the iso / memory stick images / ftp files are generated and usable. What I would now like to do is try adding couple of files, scripts and packages to this custom iso. I am a little confused on where the files should be

These are stock FreeBSD images which will allow users to perform all updating via the 'pkg' command directly. Rather than trying to answer all questions in this announcement, we've created a FAQ page with more details. Please refer to

9.1 minimal ram requirements
Guys, I've heard about some absurd RAM requirements for 9.1, has anybody tested it? e.g. http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=36314 -- View this message in context: http://freebsd.1045724.n5.nabble.com/9-1-minimal-ram-requirements-tp5771583.html Sent from the freebsd-stable mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
