Brooktrout T1/E1 cards and Asterisk
I have wanted to setup an Asterisk system for several months but have been unable to do so because I lacked the funds for a T1 card to connect my channel bank to the server. Recently, I acquired several Brooktrout T1/E1 interface (PRI-PCI48VC/PRI-PCI64V-C) cards for the PCI bus. According to the Brooktrout web site http://www.brooktrout.com/products/netaccess_pri_pci/specs.html Linux drivers are available for these cards but I don't as yet know if they are open source. Brooktrout makes several re...

Zaptel/Zapata config from T410p to Brooktrout T1
HI, I'm trying to config a span from port 2 of a DIgium T410p to a Brooktrout TR114-P8V-T1 card. I have a T1-PRI from the TELCO in port 1 (thru first port) working just fine with Asterisk 1.0.3 - been working fine for some time now. No problem with dialplan PSTN calls. Now I'd like to "route" specific DID numbers in thru the TELCO T1-PRI and out thru the sec...

Brooktrout PRI-ISA48 card... info..
I have the option to purchase an Brooktrout PRI-ISA48 dual-span T1 card, which, upon checking with brooktrout, is supported for linux 2.x, but before I do this, I want to check and see what the opinions of your, the list members, and Mark, of course, as far as asterisk being able to use this card. ANY information would be helpful, as this...

Addendum to my post re: BrookTrout TR1034 T.38
Don't want the opening line of my post to be misconstrued. "Anyone familiar with the BrookTrout TR1034 Fax Board, supports T.38 and PSTN fax in an Asterisk environment?" That's a question, not a statement. Curious if anyone has played with one of these as an extension of an Asterisk server for T.38 faxing, did not mean to imply it could, should or would play well with Asterisk. Co...

Linux Voice Mail Application??
Does anyone on this list know of any Linux based apps that will work with Dialogic or Brooktrout that provides voice-mail/Autoattendant only?? It seems that Panasonic, Avaya, and Mitel all use Unix/linux based OS on their firmware for their proprietary voice mails. My wish list would be; A software that provides all of the drivers for a dialogic or brooktrout board Voice Mail Messages in WAV...

Software for my laptop to send Fax via H.323 ?
I'm trying to test a Diaglogic BrookTrout SR140 card. It uses H.323. Trying to find a way I could use my laptop to send a fax over H323 to the BrookTrout card for testing. Any thoughts? Normally I'd setup a FXS interface on a Cisco router and setup a h323 dial peer to the BrookTrout, but I didn't the router with me! ---------...

FXO port on TDM400P hangs!!
Hello everyone. This is a message I've sent before on Sunday, no one replied so I'm reposting it (guess not everyone's at work 7/7) I've got this really annoying and beyond-my-knowledge-to-debug problem. The line connected to my FXO port gets marked "out of order" by my telco operator. I don't know how to explain this further. If I dial my own number from a

Using Asterix and Hylafax with Eicon DIVA E1
Hi, I would like to set up a high density FAX/PBX server, am looking at using Eicon Diva E1 card with Asterisk and Hylafax sharing channels, is this possible. I know Extensions can be reserved for voice OR fax with the combination of chan_capi used for * voice, capi4hylafax on fax but then channels must be dedicated rather than shared ie. would like to be able to answer voice/fax on same DID.

RFD: With echo and other distortion, can ulaw/alaw line quality ever be good enough for faxing?
...Underwood, it seems many others would too. People have spoken here of the nearly immediate echo cancelation on pure TDM circuits, and so I would have thought we'd escape the echo problems above in either of the following setups: i) Plain ole' HP fax machine plugged into TDM400 FXS card ii) Brooktrout/Eicon fax board connected to TE405P In practice we're rarely able to train with the remote fax machine when dialing to an outside line through asterisk and the ADIT 600. If we do manage to get connected and the connection supports ECM error correction, we can see lots of retransmitted frames w...

Newbie....
I have a question for the group. To get this running do I need any Digium Cards? I understand I will need them to connect to the public phone system. I'm looking at just using IP Phones or IP Softphones just to test this app. Thanks for any help you could give.

Dial-In/Out Modem Zap Channel Config. Adtran 750
I've been trying to get a Win 2000 RAS server working with my asterisk PBX for quite some time, to no avail. I've googled, I've tried loads of configurations, I've rewired phone lines, and still I am not winning the battle. Here's my config. PRI->T400P->Asterisk->T400P->Adtran 750(L36 Firmware)->RAS Server. I have 4 Zap channels signalled FXO_KS to the 750

Asterisk + fax
Hi, does anyone have any recommended (read tried and tested) way of making asterisk be able to handle incoming faxes. I've a PC running asterisk with a digium E1 card in and simply want to be able to route a call to some application which will take a fax call and save the fax as an image. I guess the bits I'm unsure of are how to terminate a fax call without a modem (if this is
