No open channels after timeout
Howdy. Trying to set up a persistent SSH connection from a remote host,
to my own machine with a LocalForward.
I am running the ssh process in the foreground so it can be maintained
by djb's daemontools to ensure that the connection stays open at all
times.
But, I am having a problem with the following command (even when run
manually from a shell):
ssh -N tarkin

scan() with "what"
Hi,
I have a medium-sized (19MB) CSV file that I'd like to read into R. The
read.csv() function seems to be a bit inefficient to deal with it, and I
remember that using scan() with "what" options is better.
However I'm unable to understand how to use it. The first few lines of
the data look like:

having some trouble using another user's RSA/DSA keys
Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 (potato), openssh-2.2.0p1
Configured with: --prefix=/usr/local/openssh --enable-gnome-askpass

My goal here is to, as root, forward a local privileged port over an
ssh tunnel to another host using a normal user's login, i.e.:
root:# ssh -2 -l jamesb -i ~jamesb/.ssh/id_dsa -L 26:localhost:25 remotehost

[Wishlist] another level of logging
Hello - got a small wishlist item here:
The currently available LogLevel settings (according to the man page)
are:
QUIET, FATAL, ERROR, INFO, VERBOSE and DEBUG.
Using "INFO" causes messages about RSA key re-generation to appear in
the auth logs. However using the next-lower LogLevel of "ERROR" causes
client IP and port to not be reported in the auth logs.

message on the topic I see:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=98536878202858&w=2
Nigel, would you mind sending me the source for the module you've
extracted from that other distribution?
Also, if anyone is interested in looking at other OPIE PAM modules, here

Interestingly, Debian 2.2's openssh (1:1.2.3-9.3) does enforce rlimits
somehow, not sure if it was specifically patched to do this or perhaps

Rsync and windows sharing
...;t because
windows computer are not mine.
Why rsync (made by the creator of Samba) can't read a window share ? Can't
interact with smbclient ?
I'm using rsync 2.5.7 on FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE with options NETSMB, NETSMBCRYPTO
and SMBFS in kernel.
Thanks for answers and solutions

Connections suddenly closing
Hi, I have been having a problem with OpenSSH which afaict has _never_
happened prior to upgrading to 3.0. (I always run the current release,
so I'd been on 2.9.9[p2] prior to 3.0.)
At a seemingly random time, I will lose my connection to the remote
host, for example:

Granted, I am not sure that that was the error

Question regarding cent OS 7.8.2003 compatibility with large SAS disks
Hello,
I have a blade server with SAS HDD's of 12TB in total.
3 HDD's of 4TB each.
Is it possible to install Cent OS 7.8.2003 on 12TB disk space?
I will be installing Cent OS on the bare metal HW.
I referred = https://wiki.centos.org/About/Product
But slightly confused with the 'maximum file size' row for ext4 FS.
Thanks & Regards,
Amey.

Atlas shared
I don't see why the Debian shared libraries shouldn't work, but it's not too
hard to make shared ATLAS: first you need to get the flags for
position-independent code (-fPIC on gcc) into the compilations, which can be
done in the "config" program (add it to the defaults for the C and Fortran
compiler flags), then you extract the object files from the .a archive built
