Thanks Aki!! The welcome plugin sounds like the best workaround. To implement this we would need to upgrade our Dovecot installation: dovecot-core: Installed: 1:2.2.24-1~bpo8+1 Candidate: 1:2.2.27-2~bpo8+1 Are there special recommendations for the upgrade process (in addition to the Dovecot NEWS file)? Any special steps we should be aware of during the upgrade? Is it that simple "apt-get upgrade dovecot-core"? your experiences are highly appreciated! This...

debian (1.2.22-3~bpo8+1) package build failure
I'm trying to test a trivial patch to set FD_CLOEXEC on the flintlock lockfd when using F_OFD_SETLK and am running into a build failure even in an unpatched state. This is on a Debian jessie amd64 system building the jessie-backports version. The stable version (1.2.19-1+deb8u1) works and builds fine using the same commands, however I also encountered a similar build problem in a sid chroot

Bug#799122: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64: Networking of domUs stops working after a few minutes
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64 Version: 4.4.1-9+deb8u1 Severity: important A few minutes after starting a domU, network access is no longer possible from and to it. This does not always happen and is not easily reproducible, but seems to occur in all newly started domUs from some point in time on. However, also restarting the dom0 does not necessarily prevent the problem. At the moment when

Classic upgrade and forced password change...
I'm doing some test moving from a NT domain to ad AD domain, using debian jessie samba (4.2) and obviously the 'classicupgrade' procedure. In my setup i use(d) extensively some script to reset password to users. I was (ab)used to have 'smbpasswd' behave differently if executed by root, eg change the password without taking in consideration password policy and check password
