Server hangs initializing audio
...e network audio The cursor sits just after the word "audio" and I have to do a hard reset to get out of it. This server has no audio capabilities, so I am thinking that I just need to disable the audio stuff so it doesn't even try to load it, but I don't know where to look. -- Bowie

I gave up and rebooted the machine, which brought available memory back up to 2.8G with everything running. How can I track what is using the memory when the usage doesn't show up in top? -- Bowie

Does anyone know of a cheap temperature sensor that will work with Linux? I don't need a fancy monitoring appliance, I just want a simple sensor that I can connect to one of my monitoring servers to let me know if the server room is getting hot. -- Bowie

Building rpms
...sion. I am using CentOS 4.2 and have OpenLDAP 2.2.13 installed. I can install from source if I have to, but I would rather stay with rpm packages if possible. I found an rpm from Fedora Core Development on RPMFIND. Will this one work with Centos, or should I grab the source rpm and rebuild it? Bowie
