css - location of files.
Hi all. I have the following scenario. http://myapp/site1 is using <%= stylesheet_link_tag ''myapp_standard'' %> to define the stylesheet for layout, I have myapp_standard.css in /public/stylesheets and it works fine. However, in the stylesheet I define a image to use for my site background. eg: html, body{ background-image: url(mysite_background.jpg); padding-top:

off - subversion
hi guys question on usage of subversion. just set up the repository, removed database settings, logs, tmp etc from being committed. we are two developers and a designer working on the project. do not have the luxury of a separate development and production server. (cost of bandwidth in 3rd world countries!) figured out how to allow everyone involved to checkout latest version and check in

Simple CIFS Linux permission
Greetings all, I have a VERY basic fileserver in my network, that works well for my needs, and have run into a problem that I can't solve. I am sure that the more eperienced users here will be able to help me in less than 5 minutes, so please, if you have some time. My smb.conf [global] workgroup = msheimnetz server string = Samba Server Version %v netbios name =

Odd Virsh Capabilities response
Tried to migrate a few VMs from existing system to an older host that we threw in the rack to facilitate some server reshuffling. Migration complained about lack of capabilities (which I expected its an older server) but when I looked at what I should throw into the xml file I got a core2duo when it should have been at least Penryn or something (Xeon E5345) Of course the VMs work fine with

Major security vulnerability in the latest Rails 1.1.5
Hi, I think there is still a major vulnerability exists in the latest Rails 1.1.5. The problem is in the routing.rb file and safe_load_paths method. Because of the erroneous regexp it is possible to perform a DOS attack on any rails application. To reproduce: 1. start your application 2. use this url: http://localhost:3000/debug Routing module will load standard debug.rb script which stops a

port 139 problems
I'm trying to setup Samba for the first time. I have followed documentation, gotten password files setup, joined a domain, and now I'm trying to start the daemons. I start the nmbd fine, and can see it in Netowrk Neighborhood. However, when I try to start smbd with /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd -D, it fails immediately. The log.smb shows: [DATE] smbd/server.c:main(641) smbd version 2.0.7

Binding to AD 2016
Hello. We have a file server running Samba version 3.5.4-0.70.el5 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 that is bound to our AD domain and uses AD for authentication and file ownership. Additionally, we have a few other Linux VMs of similar vintage (RedHat 5.x) that are bound to AD using Winbind (Samba v 3.0, 3.3, 3.5). Our present AD environment is running at 2003 functional level.

...45) > According to wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xeon#5300-series_.22Clovertown.22 the microarchitecture is Core, not anything newer. Looking at the capabilities, it could also be Conroe, it even has the same family and model. But it has the same number of matching features for botha nd core2duo is older so it's closer to the start of the list. There was some refactoring of the CPU matching, but that's not going to be in a libvirt released 1 year and 4 months ago. Currently it should tell you 'Conroe' with the latest release (3.3.0), IIUC. However it's wo...

Win95 and Win98 - hanging while shutdown
Hallo! I have a small problem. As I installed a Samba-server at one of our customers (office of foreign affairs, AKA consulate), Win98r2 does not want to shut down, the system hangs. It looks like if Windows "forgets" to disconnect the services before shutdown (at least the system hangs - over night (!!) and according to logfiles the workstation has not made any disconnect). As I

CIFS Null Session Vulnerability Fix in Samba 3.5.10
Hello Rowland, I do not have support contract with RedHat, and due to some application dependency i have to be on 5.8. No choice for me to upgrade the OS. I have choice to upgrade Samba from 3.5 to 3.6.6 through RPMs, but i am not really sure whether it solves my core issue. Coming back to my original query " CIFS Null Session vulnerability ", just i would like to understand whether

samba 4 ad member - idmap = ad for machine accounts
Thank everyone for input, It seems that using RID is the way to go. I just tried a few things: 1) - made group, assigned unix GID - added test PC to this group and set this group as "primary group" - added manually to test PC account "uidnumber" on server with samba getent passwd MYDOMAIN\\testpc$ returns nicely testpc$ with UID and GID numbers as set in

some issue with libpri cant go past 1.4.1
I have a working system with asterisk 1.4.26.2 libpri 1.4.1 and zaptel 1.4.12.1 With a digium TE205p. I am trying to update to libpri 1.4.10.2. When I do, incoming calls work but outgoing does not. When I do this I "rm /usr/lib/libpri*" then just install libpri-1.4.10.2 as normal. I then do a make clean in asterisk and make distclean ,then configure, make and make install. I do
