NFS dont''s start at boottime
Hallo,
I''m running Xen 3 (xen-unstable tarball from 4/27) with kernel 2.6.16
and Debian Etch in all domains. Most things seem to work very well.
But I have some problems with NFS in domU. The NFS-Server started at
boot time but I cant''t access to the shares from a client.

dhcpd (via systemd) @boottime which does not wait for the interface..
hi users
I have my dhcpd to serve nothing but virbr0 (libvirt), OS is Centos 7.2
Dhcpd would not start, complaining like this:
No subnet declaration for virbr0 (no IPv4 addresses).
** Ignoring requests on virbr0. If this is not what
you want, please write a subnet declaration
in your dhcpd.conf file for the network segment
to which interface virbr0 is attached. **

Automatic start with SuSe linux
Hi!
I'm trying to start asterisk at boottime. Since SuSe has no rc.local like in
Redhat linux, I need asterisk starting script to /etc/init.d/rc3.d -directory
(I assume it is like that if i want automated asterisk startup).
Do you have any experience how this is implemented in SuSe, and if you have some
useful script for starting asterisk, I would be very, i mean VERY pleased?
Thank you all

Dovecot startup at boottime fails
Hi,
I am running dovecot 0.99.10.4 on SuSE 9. I installed it using apt-get from
the gwdg repository.
The dovecot service is configured to start at boottime in run level 3 and 5.
However, it dies immediately with this error (/var/log/mail.err):
dovecot: Login process died too early - shutting down
Starting the service afterwords from a prompt as root with the command:
/etc/init.d/dovecot

And the log says:

Is there a command(-line-tool)?
On Suse there was a program called "cinternet" that fits for this task.

Loss of precision when importing data into R
Hi Listers,
I can't seem to figure out why I loose precision when I try to import a
comma delimited file using read.csv or read.table.
The fields of interest are rounded to one decimal place.

Samba nmbd crashes with PANIC
Hi there, ive got a nasty little problem with my Samba 2.2.1, running on a
lfs system with kernel 2.2.18 and glibc 2.2.2 .
At boottime i first load smbd with option -D and after that nmbd -D. But
immediatly after that nmbd crashes without saying a word. Then i found
something very interesting in the logs, here an excerpt of log.nmbd :

ZFS but how?
Hi,
I''m still debating wether I should use ZFS or not and how. Here is my
scenario.
I want to run a server with a lot of storage, that gets disks
added/upgraded from time to time to expand space. I''d want to store
large files on it, 15mb - 5gb per file, and they''d only need to be
accessible via NFS/FTP and maybe CIFS. The machine I have dedicated for
this job would be

laptop wireless--orinoco_cs, can it do WPA?
Hi!
I'm messing about with an old Toshiba Tecra laptop. i've got wireless
working well using NetworkManager and WEP. But I'm interested in finding
out if it is possible to get WPA/TKIP or other WPA variants to work with
that driver.
According to dmesg, boottime diagnostics include:

eth0: Station identity 001f:0001:0008:000a

how does hypervisor isolates DomU from Dom0
I am not clear with the working of hypervisor xen.
How does an instruction executed by kernel in Ring0 of DomU gets
mapped or executed by hypervisor and then is excuted in Dom0.
Is this thing some where on the wiki page?

tinc 1.0pre4 released
Hello everybody,
I have just released tinc 1.0pre4. Changes:
- New authentication protocol (better security, and faster too).
- TCPonly and IndirectData are back (but not fully tested).
- Documentation revised, it's really up to date with the released package now.
- tincd -K now stores public/private keys in PEM format, but keys of 1.0pre3
can still be used.
- Faster and more secure
