deliver to subfolder with dovecot's LDA
Hi all... How can deliver messages to a subfolder using the LDA? For example, I want a message to joe+spam at abc.com to be placed inside the 'spam' subfolder. Any hint is appreciated. Thanks ;)

prefetch + static + deliver
Hi all... The prefetch entry in the wiki says: "If you're using Dovecot's local delivery agent, you'll still need a valid userdb which it can use to locate the users. You can do this by adding a normal sql/ldap userdb after userdb prefetch." (http://wiki.dovecot.org/UserDatabase/Prefetch) My question is: Does it need to be a SQL/LDAP userdb? How about static or passwd?

deleting maildir files
Greetings all... Can we delete maildir files directly from the file system? Basically, we use dovecot to train spam, and we want to delete messages that are older than 30 days, using a simple "find /maildirs -cname +30 -name *imap-server* -exec rm {} \;" I have seen a post a while ago saying that dovecot can rebuild the indexes, but I don't remember if it's when the index is

9p regression (Was: [PATCH v2] virtio_ring: don't update event idx on get_buf)
...less we explicitly call virtqueue_enable_cb_delayed or > virtqueue_enable_cb_prepare. This patch (commited as 35395770f803 ("virtio_ring: don't update event idx on get_buf") in next-20230327 apparently breaks 9p, as reported by Luis in https://lkml.kernel.org/r/ZCI+7Wg5OclSlE8c at bombadil.infradead.org I've just hit had a look at recent patches[1] and reverted this to test and I can mount again, so I'm pretty sure this is the culprit, but I didn't look at the content at all yet so cannot advise further. It might very well be that we need some extra handling for 9p speci...

netapp/maildir/dovecot performance
We are seeing some poor performance recently that is focused around users with large mailboxes (100,000 message /INBOX, 80,000 message subfolders, etc). The performance problem manifests as very high system% utilization - basically iowait for NFS. There are two imap servers with plenty of horsepower/memory/etc. They are connected to a 3050c cluster via gig-e. Here are the mount options:

master user
Greetings all... We are thinking about using the master DB, so a few admins can impersonate an ordinary user. So, we want to define one master for a set of users. And this administrator cannot be master of the other users? Can this be done somehow? Reading the docs, it seems that if a user is defined as master, it can login as everyone. Thanks for any hint.

dspam plugin
Hi all... I was looking into the dspam plugin, and it looks very interesting. I saw two version of it around: - one that forks and call dspam - one that calls a store procedure in mysql. I was wondering if we can just log signature and classification into a flat file, instead. The problem is that calling spam can be expensive; And eventhough the myslq solution is brilliant, I dont want to

OT: looking for plugin developer
Greetings all, We are looking for a developer to write a plugin that copies the message to a specific hidden folder called "spam_copy" when a message inside a folder called "spam" is viewed for the first time. And when we move the message from the "spam" folder to any other folder, and if the message hasn't been seen, we should send a copy of it to

Improve application database
Hi, I see a lot of programs tested in the database without any reference how it was installed. One has to reinvent the wheel once again. Also the line between a bug and a wrong install is a fine one, it would clear up some test data as-well So why not force a howto in the database, same like is being done with what works & what doesn't work -- View this message in context:
